Morning!

Im in the market for some new eye shadows and was looking at the urban decay naked pallets, but im not sure which one would be the best fit for my green eyes.

Can anyone help?!

I have green eyes and have 2 and 3.

I think they both go very well with green eyes. I tend to use 2 if i'm going for a more dramatic, smokey look as they have some pretty dark pigmented colours. 3 is definitely more subtle, and I tend to use this for everyday wear. 3 is also quite rose too if that makes sense? If i was just getting one, I'd definitely go for 2. It will always be my favourite pallete and you can pull off subtle looks with it too but have the darker colours there as a backup. I use the darker ones every day to define my eyebrows (I have black hair).

Hope that helps!

I'd also go for 2, I've got brown eyes but there are loads of ideas/tutorials on Pinterest for different coloured eyes. I've had a few premium end eye palettes & have found urban decay by far the best.

I would build your own from MAC or similar. There's always one block you use much more than the others.

RJnomaaaaaargh · 19/09/2015 10:19

I've just bought the naked smoky palette for my green eyed dd for Xmas, I think the colours will be good on her. House of Fraser have an offer on just now, £10 off any other beauty product if you buy it.

pdxs · 19/09/2015 11:17

i think building your own in the mac palettes using urban decay individual shadows (which are cheaper & more product than MAC but fit the palettes) is what i would do now.. having been through several palettes where i use only 1-2 of the colours up...

LittleMiss77 · 19/09/2015 11:50

I popped into Debenhams earlier and noticed that there is a Naked Basics pallet which looked good - nice neutrals and only 2 'dark' colours...

Im not good with the dark ones - i get into a right mess!

Are there any colours which look better on green eyes? (Pale skin and dark hair)

W7 do some good pallates and they're cheap enough you can buy a few and experiment with colours

sonata1 · 19/09/2015 22:55

I was actually going to ask about non shimmery palettes in neutrals. I looked at the Superdrug look- a -likes but they were all shimmery. As a more ..ahem..mature lady i want something to brighten and open up my eyes but nothing with too much shimmer. Anyone ?

MsBojangles · 19/09/2015 23:02

I bought the Sonia Kashuk neutral matte palette from eBay, very impressed with the quality and versatility of the colours.

Good matte palettes are the Urban Decay Basics and Basics 2, Too Faced Natural Matte, Tarte Tartelette, Stila do a new one in a gold case and an older one in a blue cardboard case, Bobbi Brown is good for more 'experienced' eyes, TheBalm Meet Matt(e).

sonata1 · 20/09/2015 00:05

Thanks MNers. I am after pinky beiges and browns. I have blue/grey eyes but just want a natural look for daytime rather than a smokey look.

CambridgeBlue · 20/09/2015 09:37

Ive heard that MUA (Superdrug) pallets are very good and only £4! How do they really compare to the more expensive ones?

LunchpackOfNotreDame · 20/09/2015 11:39

I don't like the mua ones and find w7 better for cheaper make up.

Libitina · 20/09/2015 11:57

I tend to go for greys and purple-ish colours.

VeganCow · 20/09/2015 12:54

W7 have done the UD naked dupes, they are as good as UD and if you search on Google and Youtube there are reviews where people have both and do direct comparisons heres one
I have the Nude,Buff and Lightly toasted and they are really very good.

sonata1 · 20/09/2015 13:40

Where do you buy W7 ? They do make up in BM.Is it from there?

VeganCow · 20/09/2015 17:51

I got mine from Amazon here if you look at the sellers on the right of the page most of the shades are cheaper there.

LunchpackOfNotreDame · 20/09/2015 17:57

They have some of them in b&m but not the full range. I've seen them in peacocks too

XiCi · 20/09/2015 19:03

Don't waste your money on the naked palettes, they are awful and don't deserve the popularity they have. Was having this discussion with some friends recently and we all agreed that the naked pallete was the most disappointed we have been with any beauty purchase. The quality of the shadow is awful, I got a pallette for 3 quid from MUA last week and it is better than my Naked one. The best I've found is the Too Faced Choc Bar, far far better than Naked and a similar price

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/09/2015 19:12

Have to totally disagree, I really like the Naked palettes and find them great to apply and with brilliant longevity.

VeganCow · 21/09/2015 13:31

I also disagree. They are really good.

Sparkletastic · 21/09/2015 13:37

I've got the first Naked pallet and I really like it - use all the colours, great pigment, blend able, lasts all day, very finely milled. Cheap ones I've bought are ok to experiment with but tend to be much coarser texture and either too matte or too shimmery.

DiamondoInTheSky · 21/09/2015 14:02

Kat Von D.

Absolutely hands down the best ever.

50shadesofmeh · 21/09/2015 14:29

the too faced neutrals one is one of the best palettes I've had in ages, i also rate the urban decay naked 3 palette for green eyes

Botanicbaby · 22/09/2015 10:56

I recommend the stila palette lots of browns, creams, beigey colours or failing that bobbi brown if you have more cash to spare choose your own colours to make up a palette!
