cheaper alternative to clinique skincare?

So i am having to cut down on everything and i think the clinique stuff will have to go.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any similar products for cleansing toning and moisturising but that are not as expensive?

Thanks!

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any replies.

There are lots of good drugstore products. I never stick to one line... I look for products that are good for what I want.

What do you want from skin care? Anti aging? For spots? Sensitive skin?

KoalaDownUnder · 19/09/2015 11:14

I highly recommend Indeed skincare. It's developed in Japan and made in Canada. Not supermarket-price cheap, but much cheaper than Clinique

Replies yey! Thanks for answering. I just want something similar. Cleansing i guess and anti aging always good

What is your skin type?

Wolpertinger · 19/09/2015 14:06

Need more info in order to answer! Idea of your age, skin type, what Clinique you were using already - i.e. are you a full on Caroline Hirons fan or someone who has just always used their 3 step routine? If the latter you can do much better for less money.

Cleansing doesn't need to be fancy - just non foaming and if you are spot prone, not oily. I like LRP cleansers, if you want to be really budget Superdrug is v popular.

Only thing I really love in Clinique is the Mild Clarifying Lotion. It lasts for ages and is a good salicylic acid toner. I think it's worth the money purely because the bottle lasts months and months. Mega budget option is Clearasil pads but I really don't like them that much.

Moisturiser - anything you like. If you are dry and not spotty then Nivea blue pot is great. If spotty then a bit more difficult as you want oil free - I like Cerave which you can get from Amazon which also has ceramides and niacinamide on the anti-ageing front.

Sodder · 19/09/2015 14:08

Does the Cerave moisturiser have fragrance in it?

Blackswanlake · 19/09/2015 14:25

Had to cut down similarly yummy. Couldn't afford it anymore . My skin is super sensitive . Changed to Simple soap and toner . Nivea moisturiser for sensitive skin.

However I have found I go through the moisturiser far quicker ,so am back on Dramatically Different Lotion again . It lasts ages . As Wolpertinger says up thread the skincare does last ages. Don't bother with the soap .

I had to cut back and bought Aldi Q10 for £1.99 and it's great.

Even if you don't like it £1.99 isn't a huge amount to lose Wink

Wolpertinger · 19/09/2015 15:28

No fragrance in the Cerave. It's lovely and makes you v suspicious about why other brands cost so much

Ninacarter77 · 19/09/2015 18:52

I second the Aldi moisturiser as being very close to Dramatically different- I have used Cliniques DD for years but the Aldi one is very similar.

BlueEyedWonder · 19/09/2015 20:17

Another Clinique fan here who had to cut back!
I now use the Simple anti age range which I pick up in the supermarket. As another poster said, I still buy Clinique mild clarifying lotion.

yummytummy · 19/09/2015 20:20

I think my skin is combination some dry and some oily areas. I use the no 2 clarifying lotion. Was looking for options to replace the 3 step routine. Am mid 30's. Some good ideas thanks

Hi I used to use the clarifying lotion but reading the ingredients realised it's pretty much just witch hazel and alcohol!

I now use witch hazel bought from the chemist for less than £2 per bottle. I appreciate this might be too harsh for some skin types though... But so is clarifying lotion.

Wolpertinger · 19/09/2015 20:51

The Mild one is the only Clarifying lotion that's any good - proper salicylic acid at the right pH.

The rest are basically just alcohol and not worth it. I'd avoid any of the numbered ones completely.

I have really sensitive skin but have got it down to 2 I use. Boots no7 for everything and moisturiser from Lush if I'm near a lush. I used to use lancomb but prefer no7 stuff and prefer the prices too.

I’m a Clinique user too and love the cleansers. But now use either Cerave hydrating cleanser or Cetaphil. The Cerave moisturiser is also very good. I find the Cetaphil one too oily. I also use the ordinary Rosehip oil at night and find it lasts a while.

This thread is from 2015. Hopefully the OP found some alternatives Wink
