Just that really. I'm 37, 5'6 & 65kg. I am an hour glass shape as have big boobs & hips/thighs & a small waist.

I can vary from a size 10 to 14, but mostly buy a 12 & have always wore what I liked, not followed trends etc.

But, nothing seems to fit me at the minute. I look awful in jeans, as if I buy big they are baggy & if I buy my regular size it's camel toes r us due to the hips/thigh issue. A-line dresses are out as they seem to draw attention to my bigger bottom half & boobs & bodycon highlights all my lumps & bumps.

I'm going out for daytime drinks tomorrow & have no clue what to wear. Usually it'd be jeans, a cami or v neck tee & blazer. Last time I wore this outfit I felt self conscious & uncomfortable as the jeans were too big & I had to keep hoiking them up.

I've just been through my wardrobe for inspiration & ended up filling a black bag of ill fitting stuff to chuck out.

Help, Any ideas?!

I went through similar recently when I returned to work from maternity leave. Most of my work clothes didn't fit and those that did, I no longer liked. I have no specific style tips for you but I found pinterest really useful in searching for outfit ideas and then building my own board of things to buy.

As a fellow Hourglass, I feel your pain, Pippin. As the now, out of fashion Triiny and Susannah said in their Body Shape Bible (2007) 'It's difficult for an Hourglass to look convincing in weekend clothes. Your shape is just too ultra feminine for trousers.' They go on to say that we just have to turn out smarter than our 'less shapely' [ more in vogue] cousins.'

I am certainly not qualified to give any sort of fashion advice but S and T suggest deep V cardigans are our friends, plus 'drapery trousers' with a stretch top. Palazzos? They make me feel swamped and not like the 1930s film siren I'd hoped to be channelling! Another S and T tick goes to the pencil skirt - it 'exaggerates the curve from hip to knee' ur, yes! That's the problem, and emphasises the chunky calves beneath, in my experience. I've resorted to either the flippy skirt or the A line ( which is supposedly 'in') with the cami/cardi combo. We're just not 'fashionable' at the moment. Oh for the early 1900s or the 1950s, except for the lack of suffrage/ reliable birth control etc!
Good luck. I hope someone with more style oomph comes along soon.
