I like big fragrances, too, but they have to be subtle as well if that is not a contradiction in terms. I can't stand those headache-inducing sweet scents. So, my picks are:
My favourite autumn/winter fragrance is easily Hermes Ambre Narguilé, which is a warm, spicy oriental, but it's heinously expensive, and I can't justify spending that much on perfume, so I make do with decants. I get asked about every time I wear it.
My other go to is Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Although I wear it all year round, 'cos I love it - brash though it might be.
Kilian - Back to Black is a gorgeous honey/pipe tobacco mix that doesn't smell sweet on me at all, (but might on someone else).
Guerlain - Myrrhe & Delires, is a really smoky and spicy scent. Nightmare to get hold of, though.
Chambre Noire (Olfactive studio) - all leather, spices and patchouli. I think it needs very cold weather to really stand out. It is lovely.
