Nasolabial lines (nose to mouth) Does ANYTHING work?!

Just that really...

I'm only 31 and bizarrely this is only really a problem on one side Hmm, but to me it is a problem. The other side seems to be catching up recently though.

I really don't want to go down the fillers route, but am I being unrealistic in thinking that there's an alternative in a bottle or tube? I know that actually lines and wrinkles aren't what ages you the most, but these lines make me look sulky and miserable. I've already got the unfortunate 'bitchy resting face' Confused so this isn't helping.

Over to you ladies.

Ugh, I have these and I HATE them Angry

I am 36, skin generally great, no wrinkles but these lines are just crap. They're not deep so I just live with them at the moment but would look at fillers in 5-10 years.

Facial exercises helped a bit. I stopped.doing them though, need to get back on that wagon.

takemebacktovenice · 15/09/2015 13:57

They suck don't they. I actually did used to do some facial exercises and maybe I was doing them wrong, but they made it temporarily worse!

May have to bite the bullet with the fillers one day. My dp thinks I'm mad! (with this, not just generally Grin) I'm scared of it going wrong too......

Yeah I'm worried about them going wrong too. Hoping in 5 years filler tech will have advanced and created some space-age 100% safe magical treatment Grin

TheCraicDealer · 15/09/2015 14:39

I've always looked like that wee bit older than my friends and I recently caught on why. It's these damned lines! Even when I catch sight of myself in glazed inserts I notice it and I'm like "ewww". I'm only 26 fgs! I suspect it's the sheer weight of my chubby cheeks.

I think I'll start looking at temporary fillers when I get engaged. You'd be mortified if it went tits up though.

hellsbellsmelons · 15/09/2015 14:47

Fillers are pretty safe already.
You can inject and manipulate them to the correct spot.
You can also reverse fillers with another injection if you aren't happy with the results.
Botox is slightly different. If the surgeon hits the wrong spot then it can have an awful effect for a short space of time.

takemebacktovenice · 16/09/2015 09:54

So how often are you supposed to have fillers? Surely they can't work forever? Hmm

Sometimes, depending your facial structure, it's better to actually place it high up on top of the cheekbone/orbital rim area to 'pull up' the rest of the cheeks and take the weight off the NLs.

Injected NLs directly can often tend to look a bit simian.

ColeslawSandwich · 16/09/2015 19:34

I've had fillers there a few times but I don't really like the finished result.

The only product that's ever made a noticeable difference is this You'll see a noticeable difference within a few days.

fabulousfanny · 16/09/2015 19:45

Fillers.

Depending on your facial structure and amount of droop, when injected into the cheek/cheekbone/temples, they can 'lift' the lower face, giving you back your scafolding.

Is your worst side the one you sleep on by any chance? Pribably best to learn to sleep on your back. Dont whatever you do get fillers put into the lines themselves - therein lies 'planet of the apes' territory.

Google 'Tracey cheek queen of Liverpool' and look at her Youtube chanel.

Get yourself a silk pillowcase.

LittleMysMoominMamma · 16/09/2015 19:59

I had cheek fillers to address this issue last December (I was 48), and it was flipping amazing. It lifted and softened the lower half of my face, but in a very subtle way, I had to tell my DH & DD I'd had it done 24 hours later!

I had it done by a doctor who was recommended by a friend, he said that filling the cheeks gave a much better result than targeting the lines themselves. He did put a little filler into the line on the left side of my face as it was deeper, but made it very clear that he wouldn't make it totally symmetrical as it would look very unnatural. Apparently it lasts around 18 months, there's certainly no sign of it disappearing yet.

I wouldn't hesitate to have it done again, but would always go to a doctor/ medical professional.

hellsbellsmelons · 17/09/2015 09:18

Yep fillers last anything up to 2 years.
Unlike Botox which is around 3 months.

FluffyCubs · 20/09/2015 07:44

I bought a slendertone face.... Found it in tkmaxx and I swear it has lifted out my cheeks.... Used it for two weeks and my nl are so much better

ProjectPerfect · 20/09/2015 07:54

Nothing in a tube is going to give the results you want.

Fillers used by the right doctor are amazing- you can always build up. Restalyne tends to last 6-9mths and juviderne up to 18 mths.
