whitening strips. crest?

Has anyone here used crest tooth whitening strips? They're around £30 for 28 strips online which seems expensive but is 1/10 of the cost of getting a dentist to do them. I would happily pay that if they actually work!

or is there a better brand that I've not heard of?

thanks

Someone was raving about them the other day. Click a few pages in and you should find the thread

Yes ! I have used the professional effect ones , they are fabulous! Well worth the money

Tartanbeachhut · 15/09/2015 11:01

Yes I bought some after reading a previous post and they are well worth the money. My teeth looked better after the first strip, would highly recommend.

Pootles2010 · 15/09/2015 11:06

I believe they work in as much as they whiten your teeth, I do worry about the damage they might do though!

LittleMysMoominMamma · 15/09/2015 12:05

Very interested in these, there are loads on eBay but can anyone recommend a seller or where to buy them from please? Thanks

chipsandpeas · 15/09/2015 12:23

i use them but i get them from the US when friend go over i get them to bring me some back

MackerelOfFact · 15/09/2015 12:26

They might be cheaper than getting a dentist to do it, but you'll end up paying a damn sight more to the dentist to repair the damage/sensitivity in the long run.

Teeth aren't like hair, they don't grow back when you f*ck them up!

I got mine from here: ukcrestwhitestrips.myshopify.com/

Definitely a bit pricey but worth the money. I did mine almost a year ago and haven't had to top them up yet, they're still pretty white. I also have very sensitive teeth and didn't find it had much of a negative effect at all, I used sensitive toothpaste alongside the treatment and it was fine.

Thanks Tiffany Smile

Tartanbeachhut · 15/09/2015 17:59

I bought mine from the same place as tiffany

I've used them on and off for years black coffee and red wine drinker. I find my teeth are slightly sensitive for an hour or so after use.

Main problems I have is either trying not to gag when putting them in or salivating like a rabid dog and dribbling everywhere GrinGrinGrin.

WickedWax · 15/09/2015 20:00

Yes they work, but... My teeth became terribly sensitive and I was getting random electric shock sensations all day long which were even waking me up in the night. It took months to wear off.

My teeth were lovely and white though Grin.

Oldisthenewblack · 15/09/2015 21:42

I've used them, and they're great. Personally, I don't suffer much sensitivity. I first used them years ago, and the difference they made to my teeth was incredible. My teeth were simply naturally rather, well, grey. I was very self conscious about this and always tried to avoid smiling. After the first strip I noticed a difference, and after three, well, it was amazing. I didn't even finish the course as I didn't need to. I have had concerns about long term damage, so now use them rarely and when I do, they are the lower strength.

I deliberated for SO long before buying them, but never, ever regretted it.

Somanyillustrations · 15/09/2015 21:46

Which ones did you buy Tiffany?

Muckogy · 15/09/2015 21:47

yes i have used them. twice.
they really work.
they made my teeth sensitive for a while, but it was worth it.
need to do them again as i last did them in 2009.

toilingpug · 15/09/2015 22:15

Thank you! I already have sensitive teeth but I don't even care if it makes them less yellow.

do they actually damage the enamel though?

SimLondon · 16/09/2015 10:07

They are really popular in the states, i've never heard of there being enamel damage, i've used them a couple of times and not suffered with sensitivity, the zoom laser treatment on the other hand - OUCH!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 16/09/2015 10:33

I bought the Professional Effects kit.

splodgeness · 16/09/2015 13:53

I used the crest strips but I didn't find they made any difference. Teeth looked shiny and clean but not actually any shades whiter.

specialsubject · 16/09/2015 14:07

not allowed in the UK - nothing over the counter here works. Only dentists get to whiten teeth, now why could that be?

Yanks have the idea that silly Hollywood smiles are a good look, so their laws are looser (as are their teeth...) and you can buy strong stuff on line.

your call.
