Does anyone else shit the window and look separately if thinking of buying?

I know. I know. But it's so annoying.

yes you're right. That it even has a name (flat lay).

I wrote a fairly popular from 2006 to 2012 - I stopped when I changed jobs - and the landscape was really, really different then. Most blogs were just diaries with no PR element, and there was a really nice community. I rarely read bloggers who are "professionals" because I think their content then becomes skewed towards what they're being paid for. The argument that without links there would be no blogs doesn't stand up for me. I have no issue with disclosed gifted items, but endless sponsored posts or lists just turn me off.

God, that should say I wrote a blog. Facepalm.

Imho:

Good - blogger always discloses sponsored posts, I enjoy reading the blog, blogger doesn't hide affiliate links = I will consider clicking the link

Bad - blogger has frequent posts which she is clearly being paid to write, but doesn't disclose (pretty much illegal now but no one seems to police it), and they hide links by just linking to "dress" or "cheaper version" rather than writing "Asos flowered midi dress" or whatever, because they want you to click rather than google it yourself. So dishonest and makes me put the link into www.getlinkinfo.com/ to see where it's pointing at, rather than clicking.

Worst - blogger puts up a whole list of pics with corresponding hidden links (Pink Peonies is a terrible offender) and calls it a post.

Even worse - I've seen them posted on here, they are RewardStyle affiliate links which are then shortened to a tinyurl link and then posted as a single word which of course we all know and love as a useful feature of MN. You hover over it and all you see is the tinyurl link which means it could take you anywhere. I always report these to MN and they have deleted them (yeah, that was me if you're reading this).
