How long between waxing appointments

Just had holiday waxing done (brows, underarm, bikini and 1/2 leg) and wanting to keep using this as hair removal, how long is recommended to leave between appointments? I forgot to ask when I was at my appointment.

You'll need to let your hair grow back long enough to be able to wax again- could be 3-6 weeks depending on how fast the hair grows. This was the most annoying part of waxing for me. I invested in a home IPL machine which has been amazing and meant if I needed to, I could shave in between treatments if wanted.

Thanks. Which IPL did you go for?

My legs are ready to be waxed again in 2 weeks but it would be too expensive to get salon waxed every 2 weeks so I shave or wax at home in between monthly appointments

It's quite a good idea to shave about the half way point between appointments, as it exfoliates, and limits in-growing hairs.

I go between 4 and 6 weeks but I've been waxing for about 20 years now so my regrowth is less and luckily my hair seems to grow quite slowly!

6 weeks but it ought to be 4

It'll take 2-3 waxes to get all the hair into the same growth cycle. To get the best results you need to leave 4 weeks between your first few waxes and ideally do not shave or use any other hair removal method between appointments - this is the point at which lots of people give up.

It's only after a couple of months of regular waxing that you see longer lasting results.

If you shave in between, don't you lose the benefit of the hair getting weaker? My first few waxes, after years of shaving, were agony because the hair was coarse and there was lots of it. Now after ten+ years of monthly waxes, regrowth is significantly finer and has stopped altogether in some places, and as a result waxing is hardly an ordeal at all. I'd be loathe to throw that progress away.
