any caterpillar or timberland boot owner?

after recovering from a broken ankle and c section in the last few months, i've finally come to the point where my trusty £7 trainers aren't cutting it any more so its time to invest...

I'm looking to spend around £100 (less if poss) for a waterproof work boot for support, comfort and good grip come the winter, so just the standard timberlands or cat boots, unless any of you wise mners can recommend something better? It's mostly for pushing the buggy about on pavements/ in park etc so nowhere really exciting.
just wondering if timberlands are really worth the extra money and what fit is like for both Confused

I have caterpillar boots for work so can only comment on safety boots! The are fairly comfy and supportive, but the ones i have are very heavy as they are steel midsole and toe - can't comment on the normal ones. Fit is fairly true to size.

Have you looked at walking boots? I have some salomon ones, which are lightweight, properly supportive around the ankles, excellent grip and goretex.

I have very weak ankles through years of very severe sprains - ligaments may as well be made of glass now. my walking boots are the most supportive, much more so than my cat boots.

I used to wear cat boots for work too. They're pretty heavy, I had the Steele toe cap kind, but even the non steelies are not light. I'd always look forward to getting them off my feet at the end of my shift.

As the other poster says lightweight walking boots may be better for you, or D Martins. DMs also come in a whole range of colours and patterns so you'd look less like you were off to work on a building site.

Cat bouts are worth the money. I wore them daily about 15 years ago. My step dad still wears the same ones daily (I have giant feet).

These boys work boots from next are very nice and go up to adult size 8. Much cheaper option too.

Thanks everyone!
I think that after my old cheapo primark trainers anything will be more supportive! I had a pair of walking boots (from my D of E days in school) i remember them being super heavy and a PITA to get on and off - was a good twenty odd yrs ago though.
My OH has a pair of timberlands (not workboots) and he says they are the comfiest shoes he has ever had and its like walking on air....
TBH i quite like the workboot "look" much more so than a walking boot Blush
MagicalRealist those next ones look like a fab bargain! might try those first before shelling out!
