Grin

and they are often a little bit short as they caress the gentle curves of a mid life belly Grin

I think this age group is their biggest market!

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 09:39

I think they are brand blinded - see ' HOllister' grab it and think ' that must be ok'

I hate to see anyone in branded clothing but over 30 it is a special category of cringy.

MrsMummyPig · 07/09/2015 09:43

Shouldn't be allowed!
I know someone who wears them and other similar brands. He is 40 and completes the look with perfectly gelled hair arranged around his bald patch.

Palomb · 07/09/2015 09:46

I wouldn't know a Hollister Tshirt if I saw one but I completely agree with Superdry stuff which should not be worn by anyone over 19.

SymbollocksInteractionism · 07/09/2015 09:52

Well I'm 35 and not only do I have a hollister t-shirt but also a hollister track-suit top Shock
Mind you they did belong to my 13 year old DS who decided he didn't like them and I didn't want them to go to waste so I wear them to work.
I look ok I think!!

PennyPants · 07/09/2015 10:08

Another ageist thread

Wear what you like - no justification on MN S&B required!

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 10:11

thats a fair point PP

maybe ANYONE not a whimpering teen in hollister - its kids clothes

OP posts:
WoodleyPixie · 07/09/2015 10:13

I agree with the brand blinded statement. Going to go out on a mean spirited ageist limb now and say is often the mums and dads with older teens who still think/want to look 'cool'.

Some of the stuff in superdry is nice, the plainer polos and t-shirts with just a small embroidered logo, but I hate to see heavily logo'd/branded goods on older people anyway. My brother is 32 and wears a lot of superdry and Hollister but its the small embroidered logo (he also wears crew/lacoste/polo etc but all the small chest logo), he also doesn't have children so not copying his teen.

See also over 40s who have turntables and offer to dj at the drop of a hipster straw hat

Drew64 · 07/09/2015 10:18

I'm 51 and wear both Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch.

As long as the clothes fit you I am at a loss as to why I shouldn't wear what I like?

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 10:19

you can, I can also dislike it

OP posts:
JimmyGreavesMoustache · 07/09/2015 10:32

i don't care what men over 35 wear as long as I'm not confronted by their hairy toes in sandals
thank fuck autumn's here

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 10:34

i dont mind men in bare feet/sandals combos

I know lots do though.

specialsubject · 07/09/2015 10:35

obvious logos are a bit tragic on anyone, really.

but unless it is a babygro, there's no age limit on clothes.

HoneyDragon · 07/09/2015 10:36

I have hollister and SuperDry tops. And Abercrombie, And Dr who, and superman, and Star Wars

It's what I buy with the profit from the handbags I manufacture that sensible types like the op buy. It's practically zen.

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 10:37

handbags?
They dont interest me much tbh. I know some women are crazeee about them

OP posts:
Ilikefrogs · 07/09/2015 10:39

My partner is 44 and wears Hollister t shirts and Abercrombie ones.
They are made of good quality material and wash better than some other t shirts.
Plus, he looks fit.
Waaaay better than any teenage/twenty something boys that wear them!

HoneyDragon · 07/09/2015 10:42

I'd be happy to see dh venture away from anything that's not blue and checked and from Marks and Spencer.

Pantone363 · 07/09/2015 10:45

Agree OP

Although would rather see superdry man than "man dressed by his wife"

Boden tshirt
Khaki 3/4 lengths
Sandals
Possibly a "kooky" straw hat

BrendaandEddie · 07/09/2015 10:58

lolz at Honey

Man by Blue Harbour?
Try Uniqlo, IME men like the unfussy look of the stores ( only in London afaik) and website. Plus nice quality
