Bra ladies - can you help DD 13

I posted some time ago before DD really needed a bra about brands with small backs ir came up small and got some good advice on starter bras etc however DD is now needing something a bit more supportive, or at least fits!

She is v small 24.5 under and 27.5/28 round the fullest part of her bust so I know I've no chance of getting something that actually fits properly but Im struggling with how to size up cup size if I can't get smaller than a tight fitting 28 back. An awful lot of 28s only seem to go up to a B and some not at all plus she wants young and not very lacy.

Any ideas on size and stockists, tbh we just started with Debenhams first bras but she's complaining they're not comfy now after having a few for about a year.

I'm a 28ff I'm 41 I've struggled with a small back and bras for years. Give up on the high street, online is better.

What size do you think she would be in a perfect world?

Oh a 24 C/D or 26 B/C, Im a 34H myself so it was destined to happen

As far as I know if you go up a back size you go down a cup. So 28 a/b no?...

tbh, it's very much going to be trial and error. John Lewis do a reasonable range of teen bras and do a 28 in a C/D etc. Really a 28A/B should have the cup volume she needs though. It's fairly easy to take bra bands in too.

I used to go to an old fashioned lingerie shop (before they started selling 28 and 30 back )and they used to have a seamstress who did the alterations taking in the back so it can be done.

Maybe something like this in a 28C?

Statistically where would you take in, sides, back?

The A cup really isn't doing it so I think we'll try a B and take the band in a bit if I can work it out.

Two main ways - one is to remove the clips, shorten the band and reattach. The other is to make a small seam at each side. If you are taking it in a decent amount them sometimes I would actually do both - as if you take too much out of the side seams then the straps end up pointing outwards at the back, and if you take too much off near the clip they practically meet in the middle. Personal preference though but neither is very difficult. Remember that taking the band in will make the cups feel tighter so when trying on you need to pull the band in to how it will be post alteration.
