Girls dressy shoes size 2.5 wide feet - do they exist

Poor dd is 14 & measure size 2.5 G/H.

She's also got a very high instep so cant keep ballet flats on her feet she walks out of them.

Her school shoes are Start Rite size 3G. Her trainers are Clarks 2.5G. She's slso got traditional style Vans in a Size 2 & Sketchers that fit her.

Nowhere can she get dressy shoes preferably with a small heel to fit her. I feel really sorry for her having to go to parties etc in her vans when the other girls are wearing grown up strappy sandals.

We think her feet have stopped growing now too.

Any reccomendations. One foot is smaller than the other so often going up to a 3 in less sturdy styles they fall off & most arnt wide enough.

Maybe try BHS or New Look on line - they have specific search category for their wide fit and go to a size 3. Even M&S may do them.

I have no perfect answer - DD is only 9 but has the same issue - wide feet, high instep - so many times we have struggled to buy from the high street and ballet pumps a total no-no for her.

Our actual solution is having found a fabulous, fabulous independent shoe shop - that does loads of european brands. They also recognised that as well as having wide feet DD has short-ish toes - which make the foot measurer thing suggest she is "smaller" than she actually is. If her toes were a bit longer/more normal proportions she would actually be at least half a size bigger - so we often try that first off - the widest part of her foot naturally fits the shaping of her size+a half - but is wrong if in her supposed size - even if the correct width fitting. Hope that all makes sense. And doesn't make DD's feet sound too hobbit like Grin.

If you are North Herts try Footsteps in Hitchin. If not, maybe ask around locally to see if anyone can recommend somewhere. It is a bit of a trek for us but worth is - DD ends up with a choice of shoes - not just the only ones that will fit (or none as we get from Clarks)

Oh, and we now avoid Clarks for DD completely. Now she is above size 10/11 junior they just do not stock the width fittings.

And yes, with the high instep and the having to go up a size it does limit the styles somewhat - but there will something out there.

Flowers for your DD.
