Eva Fraser facial exercises - Help please!

I've had the book for about a year and while I struggle to be consistent, I've progressed slowly through the beginner bit and now have equal control over both sides of my face which I didn't last year. The problem I have now is that I'm dipping into the advanced exercises as I originally bought the book to deal with the angry red line between my eyebrows. It'd be a 11 if there were two, but there's only one so does that make it a onesie?! Anyway, the instructions for the exercise don't make sense to me - it involves putting fingers on your nose, and either side of your nose, and then using your facial muscles to lift the bit of face where the onesie is and I just can't do it. None of the beginning exercises really deal with isolating and strengthening the muscle there and I'm really frustrated! Confused

Can anyone help? Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?!

I post on here a bit, but have had to change everything since the hacking business - I used to be UnderATennerAtTiffanys. Thanks in advance Flowers

Out if interest how have your results been so far, I downloaded the book at the start of the year and stuck with it for ooh all of 2 weeks....is it worth starting again?

AWONI · 25/08/2015 19:48

heffalumps yes, I think it is worth it. It's difficult to say I've had definite "results" as I have no DH or other close significant person to tell me! Friends say I have good skin but I take fish oils, have a good skin care routine, wear make up etc.

The most I would say is that my face looks more sort of plumped up when I do the exercises regularly. The beginner ones focus on your jaw and cheeks and I definitely have way more control over these muscles now than I did last year. The left side of my face was much much stronger than my right and I had a long while really struggling to even get them to do anything at all! I wish I'd been organised and taken a photo before I started so I had something to compare...

That's good enough for me, I'll be sure to take photos. My skins ok, lots of open pores from being a very greasy skinned teen but at 42 the hereditary jowels are starting to make an appearance.

I remember my left side being a lot weaker than the right when I was doing it, didn't take long to get the hang of it though. I've recently changed my diet cutting out the junk and filling up on lean meat, fish, fruit and veg so hopefully the combination of that, more water & the exercises will help!

That sounds like quite an investment of time. I've always quite fancied trying it but I am lazy arsed. How much time does it take you?

AWONI · 25/08/2015 21:10

Excellent! If you get the hang of the frown line exercise, let me know!!

I met Eva, and when she was 80, she looked no more than 50, honestly!

It's a big commitment, though, just like any exercise.

AWONI · 25/08/2015 21:15

margarita it takes quite a bit of concentration to begin with - and maybe 15 minutes a day. I was amazed at how difficult it was to get the muscles to co-operate, and you need to do it in front of a mirror so you can actually see what's happening. Now that I know what I'm doing, it only takes 5 mins or so to do the beginner exercises but I need to get my arse in gear and do the advanced ones. I might be going back to 15 minutes of frustrated effort!!

Wow sanity you met her? What was she like?

Thanks. I fear I may have a wrinkly future! She looked so great. It's a pity I already have such a long list of should do s.

She was quite grand, but a really lovely person.

She told me all about the woman she learnt the techniques from, who was a dancer, (also called Eva, but I forget the surname) who realised that all her colleagues had young bodies, because they exercised a lot, but old faces. So she invented the facial exercises.

I think she had fallen on hard times, and she lived with Eva Fraser for a while.

She dedicated the book that I have to Eva Hoffman, who'd taught her. It's a shame she had a difficult time, when she'd come up with something so clever and potentially lucrative.
