Rhino feet!

Dolallytats · 19/08/2015 11:15

I have REALLY REALLY bad hard skin on the bottom of my feet. I live in sandals almost all year round and it has caused me to have rhino feet Grin

I have been looking at those battery run hard skin removers, but I don't know which is best. Any recommendations? I don't want to use that stuff that peels the skin off that is so popular on here, I only have my sandals to wear and don't want to scare people!! It also has to be a product I can use at home because I am severely agoraphobic so can't see a, err, foot person (sorry, mind blank on what they are called!!)

Also, is there any particular products that are good for keeping feet in a relatively nice condition after they have been de-rhinoed?

TIA Smile

Scholl cream is actually really good. I did my hooves last night after a bath and again this morning and they're now fit to be seen Smile

Sorry to butt in but which cream is that please? One you just apply and leave like hand cream?

MrsPingWing · 19/08/2015 17:05

Yes exactly like a hand cream. The skin just has to be clean and dry. You're meant to use it twice a day until you get the required effect, and then maintain.

Lovely, thank you very much!

I use the scholl roller thing and flexitol cream, both from boots

The soap and glory foot file has been a revelation for me! It could be a good one for maintaining after sorting initial problem out but might be worth a try first as it might do that too.

Go and see a podiatrist and get all the hard skin cut off. Once it is all gone it is much easier to keep on top of it yourself. I use a Microplane foot scraper and usually Flexitol cream.

Dolallytats · 19/08/2015 19:17

Flexitol has been mentioned a couple of times, will try that. Wow! That foot file looks like a cheese grater-could just do the job. Can't go to a podiatrist Dexter, agoraphobic. Will look at the 'cheese grater' and the Flexitol cream.

I have put Soap and Glory foot cream on this evening, so will look at their foot file too.

Thanks.

The cheese grater is awesome! I have awful heels and I reckon I could get down to the bones in my feet with my scraper!

I soak my feet for 20 mins and then dry off and use one of those callous blades (I have a safety one) to take off the skin. You have to be careful to not remove too much. Then I smooth with an ordinary paddle type file.

When done, I slather with a thick cream and put on those Bodyshop cotton socks to wear round the house/sleep in.

I've tried Footner and it is very effective but I ended up mistiming it and wearing socks on what was suppose to be a romatic weekend with new DP!
