Lip balm for 12 year old dd

Can anyone recommend a good one? Dd often has dry chapped lips but hates the feeling of anything too greasy on her lips.

She's not interested in make up yet but I don't think it will be long so maybe something with a bit of sheen or slightly pinky tint might persuade her to use it.

Carmex is good. Not as gloopy as vaseline either.
I also like the palmers cocoa butter lipbalm.

Burts Bees ones are lovely and not too greasy. They also do some lovely coloured ones for when she starts to show interest in make-up.

I'd try something that smells/tastes nice. The Palmers chocolate mint one is great for this, or the Burts Bees ones are nice. You could also try the Dr Pepper type ones but I'm not sure if they're any good?

What about the chocolate one from Lush?

Over the past couple of years my 15 year old daughter has tried most of the lip balms on the market. She gets very dry, sore lips and the best one she has tried has been the Body Shop Hemp Lip Protector. I always stock up and make sure we have several around the house, in school bag etc, they cost £4.00.

My dd(16) uses the L'occitane cherry blossom lip balm ,it's about £8.50 a tube but very good and not at all greasy / gloopy .

Agree with the Burts Bees recommendations, the tinted ones are only very very slightly tinted and they aren't greasy at all. Also seem to last for ages!

Crazy Rumors lip balms - you can get them in Holland and Barrett and they're really soothing (and taste lovely!) Avoid anything petroleum-based - in my experience. it just dries your lips out more in the end.

Another carmex fan, quite "cool", do flavours, and not too expensive. Lots of the sweetie flavoured ones are really greasy and actually make your lips dryer. If she's got really dry lips, try blistex original in the tube, use in morning and night.

Thanks, some good suggestions. I've been Burts Bees in John Lewis so will look there, we are going shopping later. Forgot to say she would prefer something that goes on straight from the tube/pot rather than use her fingers.

The carmex one tastes absolutely disgusting imo. Is your dd drinking enough water? I find that my lips are a lot better since I started drinking more.
The burts bees ones taste nice, but I used to like the body shop vitamin e one, now it seems to have been changed and tastes horrible too.

I find that traditional ChapStick is the best lip balm. They have an apple flavoured one now which is nice and effective. Possibly not cool though for a 12 year old

There is one called LaVera natural not too glossy and in my opinion the best ever and I think I have tried every single other one mentioned up thread

My DDs like the Eos ones, but more because they look cool.

The best thing for moisturising lips is Blistex relief cream in the little metal tube. Trad lip balms are waxy and just provide a barrier on the lips rather than moisture but the Blistex stuff actually works to soften and moisturise. It's not girly or cute though.

Like TwinTum, my dd and her friends all have EOS ones, because they look cool. But they are good too - I have one. If you know anyone visiting the US this summer they are very cheap there. In the UK you can get them at Top Shop . Carmex do non gloopy ones too, like this.
