Brazilian blow dry

Having one soon eek, can any of the lovely knowledgable ladies recommend shampoos and conditioners as the hair salon I have to use special products to make it last longer?tia

The "special" shampoo no longer applies and you can use your normal stuff. I would buy a decent quality ie not Pantene etc.

A few years ago the salon would give you special shampoo & condioner to use and this was included in the price.

I had one. I felt it did nothing for my long hair.

I used the one bought form Amazon recommended on here (which was amazing!!) and had to use salt free shampoo/conditioners. I used some Treseme but think it's changed the formula now. Not used it since had my long hair cut into shortish Bob.

Used to use the amazon one. Yes, it really does work, but I won't touch them now! I used this one because it didn't contain formaldehyde, but then found out the chemical they use instead, is basically just as bad. Nasty stuff Imo.

I've used the Amazon one a few times. The instructions say to use salt-free products but, although there used to be a few shampoos that were salt-free, I think they've all changed their formulas now. I got one from Amazon, this one, that was ok last time I used the brazilian blow dry.

Littlemiss out of interest, what was the chemical in the Amazon brazilian that was bad? I realise it has some iffy stuff in it because of the smell, but I'm not sure which ingredient it is.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm having the treatment because my hair frizzes in the rain and humidity, thanks for the tip about the companies changing shampoo formulas as looked through older threads too for recommendations.

The shampoo needs to be sulfate free. My Brazilian wasn't worth it though.
