Bra intervention help please!

I'm desperate - got a new baby and toddler, and am down to a cheapo Sainsburys crop top which actually fits and two 34D nursing bras from Mothercare which are far too small now my milk is in and my nipples keep escaping from them. Not a good look! :-0 I need to buy online and try at home too, shopping is just impossible with the children in tow.

Shapewise, I have breast implants, so they're quite full, but wide set, ie quite a big gap in the middle and not much cleavage, sadly.

Measurements are about 31" round the ribs and 41" round the widest part of the boobs when bending over. I hate too tight feeling bras and think I'd prefer a 32". I usually wear a 34, which is bad I know...

I would so much appreciate some advice on (a) sizing, (b) bra shape and style to get a good fit and (c) places I can buy online with a good returns policy!

Should have said - they need to be nursing bras, because I'm breastfeeding and will be for the foreseeable.

Your measurements indicate a starting point of around a 30GG/H, 32G/GG. If you hate anything tight, then perhaps start with a 32.

A 32DD would have the same cup volume as your current 34D but would certainly be too small! I'd try Bravissimo and JL for starters but you can actually convert normal underwired bras to be feeding bras (or do as some do and wear a half cup and pop your boob out!)

Ok, thanks very much, Sorrel! Goodness, what a cup size - not nearly as huge as it sounds IRL, but no doubt everyone says that about their new measurements!

Is a half cup like a balconette type style? Hadn't thought of just popping a boob out of a normal bra to feed, although that is what I've been doing with the crop top, which works well. Any thoughts on which style bra would be likely to fit me best? I've seen some quite specific advice on other threads about which ones to try on for shape, although those were proper bras and not feeding bras.

Id follow the suggestions on the other thread for shape as that will still apply (especially if you want to try converting a bra). Yes, half cups are low cut balconette bras.

Bravissimo are really good, it never occurred to me that my boons were fine it was just that the shape of the underwiring was wrong.

Tried a bra I wouldnt usually look twice at. Fab fit.

can I do a hijack - is there a thread which gives the guidelines on how to measure your boobs and where to start when trying to translate this into a bra size? (I thought there might be a sticky thread but I can't see one - and the search brings up so many hits I can't really navigate them to find anything useful...)
