Another silly question but - do you do your skincare stuff after the shower in the mornings? What do you do with your face in the shower?!

I just can't imagine not using a flannel and scrubbing my face with really hot water in the shower, it's what makes me feel properly clean Blush

Should I not be doing this, if I am doing all the steps after my shower? Are flannels + water that's too hot bad for the skin?? Could I give it a very gentle wipe with a flannel?

Do you do anything with your face in the shower at all?

This is probably a ridiculous question but I genuinely don't know if I'm fecking up my skin more if I do this.

I can't not wet my face in the shower - it's the first step in a long waking up process for me! I honestly wouldn't feel awake without the splash. For cleaning, I use cold-pressed honey rubbed on before I get in, which is slightly grainy so exfoliates gently, and feels lovely afterwards.
It's the only thing I've found that doesn't make me react with tightness or dryness. A water softener helps as well, but haven't organised one yet in this house.

you really, really shouldn't wash your face with shampoo and conditioner (by letting the hair stuff get all over it).
Shampoo is basically detergent so you are in fact washing your face with diluted washing up liquid. This will strip your skin off all its natural oils and the protective barrier that creates. In turn this makes you skin more vulnerable to bacteria, infection and inflammation ( ie spots, rosacea, etc.)

The less you do to skin the better. Keeping skin clean but not over-clean is the answer. Foaming face washes may feel nice but the foam is just chemicals (SLS anyone?) and are not great for skin. And neither is hard water.

Just Dove soap, which I also use for my body. Then moisturiser and SPF.
