air drying hair....

Sometimes i just dont feel like using a hairdryer. My hair doesnt fair well when i do this. It gets incredibly dry, frizzy and although fine, it goes kind of thick and tangly. What can i put on it to stop this? I have tried lots of things in the past. I dont get on with frizz ease. It makes my hair feel dirty.
I have used oils on my hair, they are ok but no miracle. Just want my hair feeling like nourished hair and less like straw. Any ideas?

I "towel" dry with a microfiber cloth, comb with some serum then do a loose/messy sock bun right on the top of my head- then sleep on it.
It's wavy in the morning, with bounce.
If the bun is tight it comes out in Victorian style ringlets though lol.

I have long, thick, curly hair that frizzes if I do anything to it.
So I let it dry naturally, but laden with conditioner.
When dry it is shiny - erratic curls but no frizz.

Ive never got the hang of doing a sock bun tbh. I have tied it up before and its better condition when unravelling but as soon as i leave it, the frizz comes unfortunately. Maybe its not completely dry though.
Mrsulttra, do you mean you dry it with conditioner in it? Does it not make it feel dirty?

Use the 'curly girl' method and stop shampooing it. Wash it with water then conditioner then rinse and condition again.

Or use a sulphate free cleanser - it won't foam which takes a bit of getting used to but is good if you don't feel your hair gets clean enough with just water and conditioning.

Lush does sulphate free which does foam. Must use bicarb or something. Smile

It sounds like you are just used to the way your hair looks when blow dried. Your hair is never going to air dry like that. You just have to get used to how your hair is naturally.

Some people just have a slight amount of natural frizz to their hair (I am one of them), even if it isn't curly. If it's VERY frizzy then you might need to laden it with product to tame it, but if it's just a bit, then you run the risk of your hair just looking lank and greasy from all the product.

stainless...how do you keep your hair in ringlets once it's twisted...do you use pins? I've tried that and mine immediately falls flatConfused

Well i have done it twice now and its been good. Put in oil and then just twisted my hair as you said and left to dry. The only thing is the next day hair is a bit of a mess. What do you do to keep it looking nice overnight?
What seasalt spray do you use?

I've literally just started shampoing my hair, rinsing it out and squeezing out the excess water and then rubbing a small blob of conditioner through my hair, brush/combe it through and then leave to dry. My husband said my hair felt silky smooth and it looked smooth - my grandad is Nigerian and my hair's prone to frizzing and looking helmet like when it's not blowdried.
