A skirt so short that the wearer's pants were on show even when she stood up straight. And as for when she walked up the stairs...

cinnamon what do you do?

MsJuniper · 22/07/2015 23:24

Chilli do you work with me?

avocadotoast · 22/07/2015 23:36

Teeny tiny skirt and a white lacy crop top. This girl used to wear variations on this outfit pretty much every day. She eventually got sacked but I think that was more for being shit at her job than anything else.

ChilliAndMint · 22/07/2015 23:49

Juniper are you in Brum?

WienerDiva · 22/07/2015 23:58

6 inch, thin heeled strappy sandals. As a veterinary receptionist. We did the cleaning and daily had to clear up some kind of bodily fluid (or solid) off the floor. They were only worn the once when she got Parvo shit on her toe.

She then wore 6 inch closed toe shoes. And we weren't supposed to wear heels.

thepurplehen · 23/07/2015 03:25

A boob tube in a traditional office. She never covered her shoulders in the summer. That was bad enough but when her boob stopped being encased in said tube, it was a tad embarrassing.

She's gone to work in a solicitors office now, I suspect her new bosses might be having a word!

Doobigetta · 23/07/2015 07:03

I have a colleague who regularly makes jaws drop. In a banking office, she favours a kind of gangssta-chic meets Bet Lynch vibe. Lots of bright pink leopard, six inch heels (more drag queen than stripper) and plastic bling teamed with hoodies. Without fail, she looks smarter on dress down day then the rest of the week.m

StillFrankie · 23/07/2015 07:34

I have a colleague who is very slim and can wear pretty much anything. She treats every day as a catwalk, I don't think I've seen her wearing the same outfit twice. She will overly accessorize, or wear wierd patterns, or have her (flat) stomach on show...yes I'm jealous but at the same time, she's leaning more to the casual part of 'smart/casual'

People who wear jeans in an office - even after an email was sent around detailing appropriate business wear

Our managers are not strict enough

turkeyboots · 23/07/2015 07:40

A senior manager used to wear football replica strips and flip flops. In a business/casual office but that's beyond casual I think.

tatumsfunkychicken · 23/07/2015 07:40

Leggings and t shirt - teacher at my school. It really pissed me off. We expect the pupils to wear smart uniform every day and to be presentable. Why on earth would we as teachers not do the same? I wore smart clothes every day to show that I respected the pupils and my role within the school.

MarchelineWhatNot · 23/07/2015 07:42

I remember someone on here saying that she dresses down all week, then dresses up on Friday! I remember thinking what an awesome idea it was, although I was not brave enough to copy it.

MsRaspberryJam · 23/07/2015 08:12

I had a line manager who was a little eccentric. She would dress like she was on safari, going to perform surgery, all sorts.

She was a real authoritarian and would stride around with her eyes narrowed looking for someone to tell off. One time, she came to work in a pair of bright red knee length culottes and shiny army boots. She looked like a futuristic fascist dictator.

Cinnamoncookie · 23/07/2015 08:51

Pixie I work in theatre.

mellicauli · 23/07/2015 09:58

We had an intern who used to come dressed as Little Bo Peep. We are a large grey & corporate PLC, not at all edgy..but I don't think anyone said anything. I used to really look forward to coming into the office that summer just to see what she was wearing!

specialsubject · 23/07/2015 10:29

I now work from home so there's no dress code - but was amused by the front cover of one of the weekend mags, some woman talking about how to have exactly the right level of attractiveness to get on at work.

transparent black top with black bra fully visible. Perfectly decent but just shouts 'you've forgotten something!'

may I suggest that 'crazy bra lady' is not the most professional of looks, not for most professions anyway...

MamaLazarou · 23/07/2015 10:37

Silver hot pants.

SuperFlyHigh · 23/07/2015 11:34

receptionist in current place wears jeans occasionally (acc to office manual you're not supposed to do wear jeans)

otherwise we wear generally nice clothes... smart/casual

PA/legal sec in my last office regularly showed up in white leggings, tunic top and leggings/Uggs in winter. strapless maxi dresses in summer no bra, at least a DD bust (she hadn't done bra intervention!).

seen on office workers those sort of peter pan outfits leggings with chiffon blouse on top but understand this is 'a la mode'.

Agent160 · 23/07/2015 13:59

A bright pink tutu.

No discernible reason. This colleague was very short and often commented that she found children's clothes fit her best, but she usually wore normal clothes.

I work in an office by the way, not The Royal Ballet School.

MrsMarigold · 23/07/2015 15:28

I had a colleague who was going through a bit of a mid-life crisis, her husband left, she hit 40 and got heavily into burlesque. Unfortunately (strike me down I'm being a real bitch) she was also very overweight and took to wearing rather weird things to work negligees with Spanx and tiny nightie type dresses in naff colours like red and black. Her boobs were always spilling out. It was awful. We were at a conference and she dropped her negligee bent down and we could see everything (it was bad a gay bloke at work said to me later - "I didn't know that Spanx have flaps around the fanny so you can wee." She dropped it again and even though I was 36 weeks pregnant I bent down quickly to pick it up.

Ironically the burlesque queen had a total go at a woman who used to wear leggings under her black tights as it was inappropriate Confused for an office.

Fairyliz · 23/07/2015 17:09

I work in a primary school and I am always amazed at how many large breasted teachers including the Deputy Head wear really low cut tops.
I am surprised that nothing falls out given the amount of bending that they have to do.

SuperFlyHigh · 24/07/2015 11:45

Fairy - it is surprising I knew a supply teacher who wore inappropriate clothing some days like white leggings and low cut tops - sometimes she wore appropriate clothes sometimes not.

Melonfool · 24/07/2015 12:37

One place I worked I asked the MD is my team could dress down for a week when we were having really bad weather (it was taking hours to get in and you needed to be in sensible trousers and flat shoes/boots etc in case you got stuck - and it made them feel better if they didn't have to worry about what to wear to work), and he said "I didn't realise they weren't" Hmm

Fadingmemory · 24/07/2015 18:55

Judgy pants on show, yes but at least I keep my real pants hidden!

OP posts:
Lndnmummy · 24/07/2015 19:12

Flip flops and too much clevage

GhettoFabulous · 24/07/2015 19:33

A social worker I know - massive false eyelashes and badly applied orange fake tan all year round. Strappy dresses with streaky bare legs at the slightest hint of sun. Acres of crepey cleavage on show.

I work with her occasionally in a professional capacity and she's a lovely woman, but it doesn't seem appropriate given her vulnerable clientele.
