Suggestions to get shapely arms?

I want to wear short sleeved tops.

Any suggestions for exercises? How long does it take? Does dry brushing help?

For me it was a few weeks/months in the gym with weights (heavier than I thought) but now my arms actually have shape rather than just bulk. I'm really rubbish with exercise names because I just do what my personal trainer tells me to do. I bet YouTube would have a workout, or try body pump classes.

I'm sure dry brushing would make your skin look nicer but I'm not sure it would actually affect the shape of your arms.

Marking my place with my spaghetti arms.

Push ups and tricep dips are a good starting point...anything more than that and I'm clueless.

Crossfit :)

The tracey anderson method worked wonders for me and very quickly.
I'll admit I find her pouting very annoying, but it does actually work!
Just try it here now, even sitting down if you have to and see what you think. It looks very simple, but you will feel it working. Smile There are much longer more advanced videos once you are used to her odd methods as well.

I'd say lots of press ups, tricep dips, and heavy weights (well heavy enough that reps 10-12 are tricky). That's what I seem to do with my PT. I do curl and press, upright rows, sometimes I lay on floor with weight straight above head, then have to dip weight to floor behind head (works back of arms and is a killer).

Carry the shopping home from the local shop after dropping the DC at school in the morning. Use the baby as a medicine ball. Hang tough at the play park with the older DC. Go swimming occasionally. Take up playing the violin. Or push ups, dips and weights.

The best arms I've ever seen belonged to a lady who boxed for fitness. She didn't look like a boxer iyswim, but her arms were fab.

Triceps dips and press ups.

Nettletheelf · 16/07/2015 16:30

Yes, yes, carry heavy shopping. It's great for your arms.

(So is pole dancing but I accept that the opportunities to do that are scarce).

Careful with tricep dips, they can knacker your shoulders...

MsBojangles · 16/07/2015 19:03

Jasmine, I just did that vid you linked to, almost balletic movements but I can really feel it.

Impressed, thank you!

4kidsandaunicorn · 16/07/2015 19:12

Circuit training and body pump worked well for me in the past.

stevienickstophat · 16/07/2015 19:26

Stop giving a fuck.

Worked for me! Smile

MsBojangles · 16/07/2015 20:58

Grin @ Stevie
