Curl Enhancing products help - Living Proof and such

I have shoulder length naturally wavy hair in layers with a tear drop fringe - one side curls really well and the other side just looks like I haven't brushed it properly! I usually style it smooth with a Babyliss Big Hair and straighteners but am going on holiday in a couple of weeks and cannot face the 30 mins chore every night of drying my hair.

I have seen Living Proof Curl Enhancing Styling Mousse (Marks & Spencer and SpaceNK) reviewed in a magazine but its £22 which feels a bit steep! Has anyone tried it or offer any other recommendations?

I have curly hair and have tried loads of different products at many different price points, the one I always go back to is Boots Curl Creme. It's £1.89, so if you don't like it there's no big loss. I put it on wet hair and then scrunch it out once my hair has dried. Probably worth a try.

Yes boots curl creme is very good. I also love Eco gel (I buy it from Amazon) and cantu curl activator cream (also Amazon)

my son loves the trevor sorbie spray in the pink tin, scrunches into his locks to bring out his curls.

There is a brand you can get on Amazon called Devacurl. It's specifically designed for curly hair. I go to a hairdresser who specialises in curly hair and he highly recommends it!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Think I have tried the Boots one before but worth trying again at that price. Will also have a look on amazon as well.

My DD with wavy hair uses the Boots curl cream. The other DD with very curly hair uses Shockwaves curling mousse.

I also find curl creme better than mousse - the boots one is good as is naked gorgeous curls

Similar hair to yours and I've had amazing results with the Naked Gorgeous Curls one - still widely available in Boots stores even though it's disappeared from the website. The trick for my hair is to apply more than I think I need while it's still wet, and either air dry or use a diffuser on medium setting and don't fiddle with it. It's been a revelation, honestly. My hair hasn't had ringlets like this since I was pre-school. The L'oreal Studio Line remix (?) putty in the blue tub is good too.

Making note of all these recommendations, but what do you all do about next day hair? My curls look fine on the day I wash my hair but after I've slept on them they just looks straggly and I end up tying my hair back.

Next day I spritz with water with a wee bit of lavendar oil in it and/or use some hair moisturiser to perk it up - I really like Lush's RnB.

I have frizzy dry, dry, britle, dry hair.

I randomly bought a tube of Swell hair masque. Applied, rinsed and went to bed with wet hair. Wasn't expecting much - years of product disappointment.

Woke to amazing curles and waves and lovely soft hair. Miraculous. I've ordered the shampoo and conditioner.

I use shockwaves curl mousse followed by either boots curl cream or Aveda be curly . I do prefer Aveda but tend to reserve it for going out as its so expensive . Curl cream is fab though

That might be because you come out of the shower, twist your hair one way to get all the water out, and perhaps towel it that way. If your curls form towards your face on both sides (like mine), that would mean you are destroying the curls on one side.

After the shower, I divide my hair in two, then twist them separately in the direction of their natural curls (back to front), again with towel to 'dry'. After I put the curl creme in, I twist chunks of hair to properly form the curls (takes seconds) and leave to dry. Hellooo Goldilocks

Never thought about how I wrap my hair when wet but yes you are right I twist my hair to the left and it's the right hand side that goes frizzy I will try dividing it.
