Wide feet sandal dilemma

A few summers back I bought these sandals from River Island in black and silver, £45 a pair.

Now I'm only a size 3 but I have wide feet, so while these do look lovely and elegant they are a long way from being comfortable, and squash my poor little toes something wicked.

I recently found on good old ASOS some virtually identical sandals for wide feet, £40 a pop, also in black and silver. Not quite as nice as the River Island ones but I'll sacrifice a little less style for a little more comfort.

Has anyone tried these and can tell me if they're comfy? Or recommend somewhere else I can find non-chunky sandals for fat feet? And can I really justify buying one or two pairs of sandals that are the same as the ones I own? I'm pretty sure I could find a happy home for the once I already have as I've only worn them a handful of times each.

Oh and check out Primark - They seem to run on the wider side.

Evans?

I've had a look at Evans and New Look - their sandals all either seem to have big chunky heels or they're only a few inches high - I'm quite petite so I like nice high stilettos .

M&S used to do wide fitting, whether they have anything the right style is another matter though...

Next also do some wider fittings.

I always but Clarks wide fit sandals and find them comfortable. I'm not a stiletto wearer but it is worth a look.

I really like those ASOS ones and I think you could justify them as they are a classic style so they'll last forever hopefully... however, £45 seems a lot for non-leather shoes. I would try New Look maybe?

Sometimes you can get away with normal sandals if the style is right eg adjustable across the front or flexible across the wider part of the foot.
