"What happened to your face?!"

Oh god, it's awful. I went to the Drs about my rosecea and the treatment has brought me out in a horrific bumpy painful rash across my face, best described as hives. It is just so angry. It is raw and itchy and hot and very prominent.

Gah! What can I do?! Obviously, I've stopped the treatment. I've taken an antihistamine. Help!

OUCH. There must be something I can do?

Sudocrem, my mum has similar to you and has tried every cream going both on prescription and not. I suggested Sudocrem and it's made a huge difference

sali Hughes on Rosacea

RecoveringPerfectionist · 23/06/2015 10:26

My rosacea first appeared as a non text book case in that I had also had some unusual type of eczema in the same place as well. My GP at first prescribed some meds which did not help. I went back and he referred me to a dermatologist who knew exactly what the problem was. Might be worth a try? I tried all sort of products too (Neal's Yard etc.) and it was hard to tell what helped and what didn't. It was awful. I became a hermit and it was over xmas as well. Once we got it under control it's been good as gold and I've not had another flare up. Good luck.

Don't use anything until it's all calmed down apart from Sudacreme.

When it's all settled down use E45 emolient wash and Allergenics intensive care cream from Holland and Barrett as a moisturiser.

I have rosacea and this has made the biggest difference to my skin above all the specialist creams I have ever wasted my money one. From what I have read the side effects from the prescribed creams can cause the very things that you hang to get rid of!

Ditching sugar has helped hugely.

Thanks for the replies and the Sali Hughes link. That's helpful.

The GP has told me to put nothing on it til the reaction goes does - I wish I could speed that up. DH is horrified by the results and has let me stay in PJs and do anything outside the house today. I can't hermit for too long though.

And, argh, this is itchy! And so ugly.

Sudacreme is perfect though for itchy ,red skin. Just try it on a small area first if you are worried.
