Havespent 3 hours this am looking for someting with no joy. Everything is just plain or covered in sequins etc. I have nothing in my wardrobe that will do. Obviously it can't be something online as time is ticking. Please help. I am a 12-14 5ft 6ins, (pale skin blue eyes blonde hair) .

what colours suit you ?

Do you want to show your arms ?

Short ? Long ? Knee legth ? Which do you feel most comfortable in ?

How about shoes, so you have the right shoes too ?

I am still carrying a bit of baby belly (can I still call it that nearly 2 years on). Prefer knee/calf length, not long or short. I like burgundy, autumnal colours. Never really been brave enough to try vibrant colours like red etc. Happy to show my arms. I own way to many shoes so more than likely will have some (or cold buy some). Must go now will check back soon.

Don't laugh, but I found my dress for my xmas do (not the MN one ) in tesco. Florence and fred. It is a goldey layer underneath with black lace over the top, wrap over design at top, about knee length and with a gold bow in the middle (covers up my two year old baby belly beautifully). It was £40 so can't go to wrong. Fits me really well. I brought it home to try on and was quite delighted with it. They had a few others too so might be worth a quick look in one of your larger tescos! How are you BTW?

The tescos near us only does kids clothes, but thanks anyway Floss (sorry you can't make it on Saturday). I doing reasonably well considering the stressof this buying/selling/moving malarkey.

Which shops can you easily get to? What's your budget?

Report
Flossam · 14/11/2006 16:06

I reckon it's worth going a bit further afield for a look personally! Been round lots of shops and found nothing. Are you set to move yet?

Laura Ashley has this , not sure if it's the sort of thing you were thinking of? More/less formal?

Can get to Monsoon, Kew, Zara, John Lewis, River Island, Benetton, M+S, New Look, (most shops I can think of tbh. Time is running out so I was hoping to discoer a dress from home and just go and get it.

Budget is £80ish pounds (Maybe a little more). I would like something that I can wear for other outings (and perhaps xmas day).

Love the strapless one sunchowder (btw long time no see, how are things with you?), but not sure it is right for the venue.

I do like that jackieno, but not able to get todebenhams (well I could but it involves taking a 2 year old on the tube to Oxford street) and delivery is 5 days so not enough time.
