New job working from boss's manor house - what footwear?

Landed a fab job as PA for a company Chairman and will be working form his home which is a beautiful manor house.

Just not sure what footwear is best.

I have to look well groomed but there are a lot of highly polished floors so heels are a no no!!

Wondering about elegant slippers to change into?

I work as a private PA in his home. It's socks! Total no shoes policy!

Why do you have to look well groomed? Do you mean well groomed personally, ie hair, nails, bit of make up etc and jeans, loafers and a jacket will be fine?

I have the same type of job and it's very cold in winter- I wear uggs indoors and a pashmina with fur round the collar:) or flat long boots, and lots of stuff from hush.

In summer I wear tea dresses ( Dickens and jones are my favourite) and ballet flats, with a lighter pashmina ( draughty!)

Sometimes I have to walk the dog:)

I was expecting loads of recs for Merrill boots and Hunters! When I did the same job a few years ago (very posh former farmhouse plus assorted converted barns and stables) I used to wear waterproof, comfortable Merrill boots in the winter and loafers or walking sandals in the summer - we all pitched in though, so there was a bit of dog-walking/bin-emptying/trudging up the fields to meet the helicopter too though!
