thinking of having a one off botox jab in forehead

I frown. A lot. A vertical crease in middle of forehead, not lots of horizontal ones. I want to break the habit as I've noticed that I have a circle of wrinkles all round my face when I do it
Anyone?
I'm 46 and don't look it. Not after unwrinkling g, just stopping the habit

Hi, good luck I'm interested to see your results. (You look fine to me anyway though but it's more important how you feel about yourself)

QOD · 09/06/2015 22:46

Note that it's always Wine O'clock in my kitchen Grin

I've had botox a few times now - on my 11s and my frown lines and lines on my upper lips. I've also had a non surgical facelift on my jowls and deep lines between my nose and mouth, which should last over a year. I'm totally happy with all of this as I definitely look fresher without losing any mobility. One of the 11s is very stubborn so I had a filler as well last time but it didn't totally work. The doctor told me that the crease would go over time but would probably need a top up filler in 3 months time to help it on its way.

The filler procedure hurt but was only for a minute. The non surgical facelift did as well and took longer so I probably won't repeat the experience. Botox is fine. I see the same plastic surgeon each time and he is very good at making sure i don't have unrealistic expectations.

You will love it.

It marks, but only momentarily. I have had it during the work day and no-one has been any the wiser.

FairyBiker · 10/06/2015 04:00

Ooooo where are you having it done? How much is it costing?

QOD · 10/06/2015 14:19

Been. Hurt a bit, made my nose lining swell and go all sneezy
I had taken anti histamine last night and this am just in case.
I have a 1 not an 11 so about 7 injections whilst I frowned. Upright now for 4 hrs.
Now I did get a bright red nose and start To have a sensation of my tongue swelling so I don't know if I'd do it again!
I took another antihistamine again

Takes up to 14 days to paralyse the muscles apparently

£180 it was eek

I have to not touch for 4 hours either. Will start slathering on serum tonight and concentrating on not frowning for the next couple of weeks.

I'm starting to get 11's, shall I start now or wait a bit longer?

bgottalent · 10/06/2015 18:45

Chipped I would start now before they get too deeply embedded. I wish I had done

chippednailvarnish · 10/06/2015 20:33

Fair enough, I've been quoted £125 by a medic who has done my friend. The thing that annoys me is I only get them in the morning as I seem to frown in my sleep! I was considering putting micropore tape over the affected area overnight to stop the frown desperate

TheGruffal0 · 10/06/2015 20:35

I too frown in my sleep! Indeed I must gurn!!!

chippednailvarnish · 10/06/2015 20:37

I blame DH, he does something in his sleep that makes me consider putting a pillow over his face and pressing. Hard.

horseygeorgie · 10/06/2015 21:02

Can I just be a real spoilsport?

Botox is the most poisonous substance on earth. 1 kilo is enough to kill everyone on the face of the planet. Why the hell would you have that injected into your face!?

Apathyisthenewblah · 10/06/2015 21:21

Enough about Botox tell me more about nip and fab because it is half price online at boots. Which ones do I need to get rid of my 11s?

namelessposter · 10/06/2015 21:38

No such thing as one off botox.

QOD · 12/06/2015 16:50

Already can't frown as deeply

browtox · 12/06/2015 16:53

think the not lying down etc stuff is a bit of a myth tbh
I sneeze sometimes too.The first time a mild headache

but its BRILLIANT - the results

chippednailvarnish · 12/06/2015 16:54

I'm booked in for next week scared

browtox · 12/06/2015 16:54

I find day ten is the one where you think WOW

Duckdeamon · 12/06/2015 18:07

Ooh, really like before and after pics, how exciting. 7 injections, ouch! How long is it likely to last then?

CatherineOfAbdomen · 12/06/2015 19:03

I'm astonished at people blindly encouraging this. I'm in agreement with horseygeorgie.
You must read some of the stories about botox gone wrong, before you follow the 'advice' from a stranger on the internet recommending you inject a bloody neurotoxin into your face.

chippednailvarnish · 12/06/2015 19:49

Yes, i just thought "a stranger on the internet has had botox, so I will". No research of my own, whatsoever.

QOD · 12/06/2015 20:48

Yeah me too ...

She said it lasts a minimum of 3 months some people up to but my mum found she didn't repeat the forehead one as if you can break the habit of frowning you don't go back to it
She's had it to kind of lift her eyes but again it's like.shes broken the habit of screwing them up
I went and ordered new reading glasses today as reading and Internet use cause a lot of my gurning!

OP posts:
chippednailvarnish · 12/06/2015 21:46

Well I'm only doing it because you are.

My DH has it for medical reasons as does a friend, they have managed to go much further than 3 months between treatments.
