Hi, I'm 31 and my skin is awful, spotty near my chin and mouth and really dry by my forehead, using Clinique 3 step at the moment but doing nothing for me, is there anything anyone can recommend please? Ideally something simple! Also I'm using Estée Lauder double wear, could that be too heavy for me? Thank you. C

My skin sounds similar to yours. I switched to Estée Lauder and my skin has never looked better. I use the perfectly clean foaming cleanser (which doesn't actually foam!), their toner and the daywear moisturiser for combination skin. I got a free sample of the advanced night serum which is excellent but pricey so I'm still debating whether to fork out for it.

I don't use the double wear foundation but I do find if I don't take my make up off properly I get a bit spotty so maybe your make up remover is letting you down?

I used Clinique 3 Step years ago - for stripping your skin, it's unbeatable.

I would suggest being much gentler on your poor face - a cream cleanser (Superdrug gets a lot of love on here), and LRP Effaclar Duo to clear the spots if needed.

Your skin and wallet will thank you!

Thanks for your help, I suppose it's a bit of trial and error, going to up my water intake too and try to get enough sleep! Will try the super drug stuff first I think, thanks

Have you considered oil cleansing? You can literally just use olive oil & a flannel. This is a good site which explains which oils are good to use for oily skin.

At the very least, stop using stuff on your face that strips the oil off it. Your skin will only carry on producing more oil. You need to make your skin realise it doesn't need to do this - don't strip it.
