Have you gone from a BOB to a WOB?

I was reading an article on the WOB (wavy bob, like Sienna Miller's new do) in the Boots magazine and it suggested that you would need a volumising mousse, followed by random tonging sounds dodgy and finishing with a spritz of salt spray like the Bumble and Bumble one. My hair is in a bob but I tend to dry it straight rather than leaving my hair to go wavy (well actually it's just a vague kink). Have any of you tried the WOB and what products did you use?

My hair is naturally wavy, so I follow the curly girl method for wavy hair. I wash it, use silicone-free conditioner, put some curl gel in when my hair is soaking wet, "plop" it in a microfibre towel for half an hour or so and then let it air dry. I put salt spray on and tousle it a bit if the waves drop out.

The overall effect is a bit curlier than the sort of WOB you see on a model, but it works with my natural hair texture and is easy.

Sounds interesting Jasper! What specific conditioner, curl gel and salt spray do you use? I'm just wary of spending loads of cash if it doesn't actually work with my hair type.

My hair is fairly wavy so I wash & condition. Try the front section (which falls to about my cheekbones), and then scrunch salt spray through the rest and let it dry naturally.

I'd also be interested in more info on Jasper's 'plop' technique please Grin - my hair is that awkward some curls / mostly wavy frizz what the hell can I do with it. Sick of it!

You should try a sulphate free shampoo, and a silicone free conditioner. I always use the pinkie curling cream from Boots, it's cheap as chips.

I plop my hair with a muslin cloth (the standard square ones). With wet hair and product in, I put the cloth flat on my bed with a straight edge facing me. I put my head upside down, and scrunch my hair a bit to enhance the curl, then a squash all the hair on top of my head, and tie the two corners of the muslin behind my neck. I then pick the two corners further away and bring it around my head, and tie with a knot on my forehead. I leave it on for half an hour or more, and when it take it off my curls are real bouncy. Voilà, I hope it makes sense. I could always post a couple of pictures!

I just got this hairstyle on Monday -haven't washed it yet -my hair is poker straight... I've just used a curling wand on random bits and then hair sprayed it... Took just minutesSmile
