Babyliss big hair help!!

Realise I am a bit late to the party but have just got myself a babyliss big hair. Used it for the first time today, and my hair sure is big .... But not in a good way! I have big frizzy bush hair.

I watched a couple of you tube tutorials before I used it but it still went wrong! How long should I hold it in place once I have wound it up in my hair? And do I just pull to get it out or use the unwind button?!

I have very very thin frizzy naturally curly (but very frizzy) flyaway hair so maybe it's just not right for my hair type?!

Please can someone explain in detail how I use it!

Thanks

It does take a bit of getting used to so don't give up just yet. I was hopeless at first but now I couldn't live without it. Let the rotating brush do the work for you. With the brush spinning put it under a section of hair, wind the hair onto the brush, hold in place at the scalp without the brush spinning for a few seconds then pull it straight and off the brush. Don't use the rewind button. I still occasionally hit that button by mistake.

It makes a HUGE difference if you don't take too much hair at once - get a sectioning clip from Boots and do relatively small sections at a time, starting from the nape of your neck and working up to the top/front of your head. Make sure each section's properly dry before moving on. You also need a good heat protecting spray, or else like me you can end up with serious frizz. I run some Liz Earle hair oil through the ends, then spray Elnett blowdry spray into the roots for volume.

I let the hair wind around the brush and then pull against it, like the stylist does in the salon with a brush/dryer, so the tension straightens it a bit, and carry on pulling/curling until the hair's dry. Then I sort of turn the BBH sideways and let it curl the hair into a ringlet while it cools, so it keeps its smooth shape.

Then hairspray, and lots of it.

It does take a bit of practice, but the movement eventually becomes automatic: I've got shoulder length curly hair and can do the whole lot in about ten minutes now.

Good advice. I forgot to say that I also use a volumising spray (L'Oreal Techni Art Volume Architect) at the roots and a smoothing heat protecting cream (Kerastase Nectar thermique) on the lengths. Good luck and keep practising !

I have frizzy hair and it does NOT like the babyliss big hair. I can manage slight waves but it always looks a bit fried afterwards never smooth. My hair may be too long for it though, even with a tiny section I can't get the brush to move once it's more than halfway up my hair.

Tried again today and a bit better results

Still struggled with not getting other bits of hair caught in the bit I was doing. Also struggle to pull it out and having to use the 'unwind' button a bit. My hair is very fragile so don't want to just pull really hard.

Took ages to do my head and I have very thin hair so not sure how people can do whole head in ten minutes!
