Crack on sole of foot - what to do / products

I'm hoping that you lovely S&B can advise on the best way to address this issue - I have a crack in the thick skin on the sole of my foot, heel area.
Not a heel crack, it's actually on the sole. But similar issue I suppose.

I have no heel cracks or cracks anywhere else. I used to years ago but got rid of them by frequent pummicing and moisturising....should I just do the same for this crack too? Or anything different?

It's a bit sore. Have used a foot file gently this morning and moisturised.
Any specific product recommendations? (not Footner, the idea gives me the heebie-jeebies)
Thanks

Something with urea (Flexitol, Aldi, Boots)
Flexitol Heel Balm has 25% (and there's a Platinum which IIRC is 30%) urea
Use on damp skin and put a sock on to help absorb and keep it going everywhere

As it's BH weekend , you might need to use what you have , in which case, Vaseline will help but it's not got the active ingredients that the urea creams do.

Just be mega careful when you get in the bath/shower, the water will make your feet a bit slippy.

Check in all your shoes for something that might have caused a split. Or you might have a natural 'crease' in the skin there which is more likely to shear.

Ah thanks for that, Flexitol sounds like the stuff, I shall get some.

No idea why it has cracked in that spot, it's pretty random.

Eucerin with urea is about £10 but worth every penny

Or ask pharmacist for own brand of urea-based cream.

Afterwards, when it's healed, pound shops sell Argan oil 'bootees' which moisturise your feet beautifully Smile

Brilliant advice, thanks. Sounds like something with a high urea content is the thing. (urea.....that's wee, right? Confused)

Like the sound of the argan oil booties too, will look out for those.

It's a natural product Yes okay, it's found in wee it helps the skin to retain moisture which is why you need damp skin. Smile

Thanks. I've got some flexitol now, and also some moisturising sock things to sleep in, hope it sorts matters out quickly.

Go to a proper chiropodist and get them to do it for you. Then maintain with cream etc.

Ouch at the thought of you doing it.
