Sunday Riley - worth the money? Live up to the hype?

I have read absolute rave reviews about all their products but particularly Good Genes and Luna oil. Each costs nearly 100 which is pretty jaw dropping so I want to do some research before starting what could be an expensive habit!

If you use and love Sunday Riley products, what difference do they make to your skin? Have you used anything else that was almost as good? And if you hate them, please also share why

I've got Good Genes serum & Isis oil - they are good but the serum is my first ever so no idea how it compares! They do seem fab but would be interested if something cheaper would do the same job.

I own and use all the serums in the world - or so it seems - and I have Flora oil and Good Genes. They're nice, they're quite good.. Do I wake up looking ten years younger? No. Are there products out there that do the same job for half the price? Yes.

Try and get a sample of good genes and see what you think. Re the oils ... They're £70 a pop. My Oracite carrot oil does the same job for £45

And re her make up ... Love the blusher and the face powder. Absolutely hated the lipsticks. Cheap packaging and horrible thick formulas

I've tried good genes - had 10ml sizes in space nk gift with purchase the past few times. It is a nice serum. I'm 40 but do have good skin (plus point of being very pale and using spf all the time) and a good routine anyway so I didn't have any wow factor with it. I wouldn't spend 85 on it personally. But that's because I'm very happy with the serum I do use which is about 40. Had it been 40 then I may have swapped.

I'm not adverse to spending that amount if I felt it made a huge difference and it is something is look at in the future if skin needed it.
For good genes I'd suggest waiting and seeing if it's in the next space nk bag (assume they sell things you use anyway - I wait and stock up on items I use when they have these available). Has been in the last 3.

I managed to get two Space NK gift bags this time round and got 20mls of the Good Genes. I always snap up the goody bags so I rarely have to buy the full sized SR products

Lottapianos · 21/05/2015 13:59

Katnipp, which 40 serum do you use that you're very happy with? And what is your skin type please? Smile

And molecule01, same job at half the price? Please do tell Smile

I really recommend the following in the £40 ish bracket

Ren o12 moisture defence oil - this is really nice and must be good because I'm in my third bottle!

And the aforementioned Oracite carrot oil. You can mix this with your moisturiser and it gives a really nice glow to your skin, plus it smells delicious!

I'm 43 with no wrinkles yet and normal skin - which I suppose these days must be dehydrated because I can slather on all manner of oils and creams and my skin absorbs it all. I'm using the good genes at the moment though and the main thing I like about it is the smell - like an antiseptic pear! But really, the results are not worth the £85 price tag

Paula Begoun (the 'cosmetics cop') doesn't rate Sunday Riley. She thinks that it's very expensive for what's just an ok set of products.

I use sarah chapman products. Been using for about 4 years. I dip in and out with other products but always come back to this. Love the cleansers and overnight facial oil too. Qvc often have good sets (and worth using for 30 day return policy). You can also get a sample set - cleanser serum and moisturiser 15mls of each which is a good way to trial.

I have combination skin. Oily t zone esp if I'm not taking care of myself. Hormonal spots and can be prone to a little red flush on cheeks.
