Please advise - Remedying foundation settling into facial lines :(

Just as the title says. I have been blessed with George Michael's between the eyebrows frown lines. I bloody well hate them, but now to compound that I notice my foundation pools into said creases and highlights them even more! Angry

I use a LRP moisturiser, Smashbox Photofinish primer, Chanel Aqualumiere foundation and Chanel loose powder (applied very lightly with a brush).

Besides botox can you please recommend a primer, cream or foundation that might help improve the situation?

Many thanks, oh wise skincare gurus!

Presumably you've tried not using foundation on that particular area, or applying with a Real Techniques sponge and just pressing the remnants of the foundation between your brows when you've finished the rest of your face?

Fairylea · 16/05/2015 17:45

I have the same problem and personally I need to use pressed power over the area with the lines otherwise I find the same thing..loose powder just doesn't set the foundation the same way as it's too fine.

agree , don't bother applying foundation in the problem area
less foundation much less ageing imo

I would go for a lighter tinted moisturiser /bb cream and apply only in areas that need some coverage

get some Retin-a for the wrinkles

I'd suggest trying Rimmel's BB Cream - it's like a very lightweight foundation so it doesn't settle into lines or go cakey, but it still gives good coverage and wear time IME, and it comes in a pretty good range of shades. I'd try applying that with something like the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, avoiding the lined area, and then blending into the lined area when the brush is practically dry/clean again.

Thanks for the replies DameD, Fairylea, ggirl and Ziltoid

I am going to haul my arse into the 21st century and check out the bb/cc creams. I'm afraid I had to google them to find out exactly what they are and what they do (hangs head in shame).

Great to see the brushes / sponge are affordable and easy to get hold of.

I have a tube of Indeed Labs Retinol Resurfacer beside the bed. Will get into the habit of using it nightly.

Can see how pressed powder might not settle so much into the crevices.

This is brilliant, thank you! Looking forward to going shopping soon Smile
