I had a revelation today! I tried on and bought this www.sweatybetty.com/mobile/clothes/swimwear/bikinis-/-tankinis/redadmiralcolourblock-tiki-long-bikini-top/ and these pants
www.sweatybetty.com/mobile/clothes/swimwear/bikinis-/-tankinis/claretrosecolourblock-tiki-bikini-bottom/?rr_site_mode=uk and feel FABULOUS in them, esp the bottoms, the most flattering swimwear I have ever worn. I have never felt so 'me' in swimwear before, I usually feel I am playing a role and not wearing something I would ever normally choose to wear. Not in this, I would walk down the street in it! Actually felt slightly teary because swimwear shopping is usually such a trauma. Expensive but so worth it. I am dancing on sugar coated rainbows right now!

FYI I am size 12, 5'10 with 32E boobs and athletic figure with big shoulders.

Looks really good OP - but still, nearly £100 for a bikini??

Swimminguphill · 16/05/2015 19:03

I know I was not going to buy it but I love it and can wear for all swimming not just beach (desperately justifying purchase...) Cost per wear will be pennies -right??

I love them! Could per wear will indeed be mere pennies, especially if you adopt it as daywear Wink. It looks really comfortable, stylish and unlikely to need constant readjustment.

Yes I have 2 small DCs and my boobs are always escaping and along with being Celtic milk skinned I always get hot & flustered and deeply uncomfortable on the beach but am thinking I'll actually enjoy it this year ( and next! This will be WORN) which is priceless to me.

I'm Celtic skinned too. Milk would be a tan for me, tippex is more like it! I love Sweaty Betty but a gentle word of warning, I have broken stitches on their close fitting tops yanking them on and off, and the bikini top looks like a small amount of wrestling might be needed to get on and off (like sports bras). BUT, I'm sure you are more careful than me. Hope you have a holiday booked!

Swimminguphill · 16/05/2015 19:59

It does look like that and I have read negative reviews about tops being hard to get on and off... If it was likely to make me flustered I wasn't going to get it as I have had one before that felt like I sprained my shoulder getting it on (a sporty one for the big of boob) but this was surprisingly easy and because the clasp is lower than a normal bikini I managed that too in the changing room (high pressure environment for me) pretty easily. I will be careful but I am really hoping I have found my bikini nirvana. Normally just not looking awful is what I go for in swimwear...

Holiday to France booked so hoping I'll have lots of opportunities to wear it... May do my shopping in it!

I bought a SB bikini last year and it has been fabulous. Unfortunately I have lost weight so now need to replace Sad

Oh no! I hate it when your fave things stop fitting... For me rarely in that direction though ;)
