Hair (and glasses) intervention!

Having had so much good advice on the shoes (THANK YOU), I am hoping to try my luck with the hair Smile

I have finally achieved something I always wanted which is nearly waist length hair. Trouble is it looks awful! It used to be insanely thick but has lost some weight with hormonal changes I suspect. Still pretty thick. Has a strong wave but doesn't actually curl. Warm golden brown on a good day, classic English mouse on a bad one. It tends to live in plaits and knots.

I think it has to go but can you recommend a good style for thick wavy hair of an indeterminate colour? Has to be easy to look after and not dependent on straighteners ideally. Not too keen on them and every time I've straightened my hair it's looked dry and awful. I have a squarish face with fairly strong bones and have to wear glasses most of the time - major problem with hairstyling is I tend to think everything looks awful with glasses so don't bother! I may also need a glasses/ hairstyle that looks good with glasses/ learn to love your specs intervention Smile

Hey op, would you be really sad at losing the length, or are you ready to move on?

I believe hair that long almost always goes a bit thin and straggly unfortunately. Perhaps having it down to your bra band would be more Flattering? I think i have similar hair to you, naturally thick and wav, and will develop some good curls at the ends if cut right.
I always ask for some serious layers, going from the ends right up to my jaw line. This lifts the weight off, allowing the hair to curl up throughout instead of hanging in one heavy layer. Although it's thinner it looks much thicker as all the curls pile up.

In the front how about a long sleepy fringe that would sit to the side of your glasses?

I'll try and find a pic of what I mean

Waist length hair imo suits no one but the young (less than 25). I used to have it myself for many years. I had a drastic chop, above the shoulders which I liked but I've since grown it to sit at my bra strap, it's a much healthier and manageable length.

My hair sounds very similar: very thick (although less so these days), strong wave, was blonde but now at least 50% grey.

I keep it short - never longer than chin length and in loads of choppy layers with a side fringe. I am vain but bone idle so never straighten or blow dry just wash, slap on some stuff and go. I always get compliments on it so I guess it's one of my best features.

I also wear specs and love them but maybe that's for another thread Smile

Thanks very much guys! No I think it does need to move on and these are great ideas. I will book a consultation and see what happens Smile
