Does this bra exist?

Help please - you lovely wise MNers.

I really want quite a solid, moulded, uplifting bra. I am a 34D. I want something that will lift them up and separate them (hate cleavage). Plain and simple styling is good but I can do lacy if needed. I just want them perky (but not pointy) and about 6 inches higher than they normally sit, post dc. Not a push up bra - more of a scoop up Grin, leaving me with a nice smooth line and two separate breasts.

Does this exist? TIA.

I am assuming your stated size is accurate, if not then the magic lift you're looking for will not happen!
From your description, the Fantasie Rebecca might fit the bill. There's a variant here

Fantasie Rebecca is a very nice everyday bra, personally I don't think it gives me much of an uplift though. For more lift, half-cups are good, especially slightly padded ones. I like Fauve half-cups personally, this one gives a lovely, lifted, rounded shape: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Fauve-Lingerie-Marla-Padded-Half-Cup-Bra-Aubergine-0291-VARIOUS-SIZES-/200988748318?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2ecbdcea1e

The squeezed together cleavage look comes with plunge bras, so you want to avoid those.

Have you tried a sports bra?

ouryve · 12/05/2015 14:30

The Curvy Kate and Flirtelle balconettes I usually wear achieve this.

You need to re-measure yourself, though because you're probably not a 34D (especially if M&S tell you that you are). Measure tightly around your ribs under your bust and round to nearest even number for band size and then lean forward and, with no bra on, measure loosely around your bust. Every inch of difference is a cup size, so 1" = A, 4" = D and so on. That should give you a starting point

CMOTDibbler · 12/05/2015 14:36

Sounds like you need a half cup bra, in the right size. The right size being according to the method Ouryve describes

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/05/2015 15:03

Ewa mickalak give amazing uplift as do many cleo styles like lily and marcie. Bravissimo alana is good too.

Going to echo the fit check comments though as if the size is wrong you're gonna struggle

Thank you ladies!

Yes - I am definitely a 34D, using the approved method. I gave up on M&S measuring 10 years ago, after dd was born and the best they could come up with was (in their words) "not bad" Hmm

Funnily enough I had spied the Rebecca on my travels married. I am prepared to go for a more radical style in order to get the silhouette I want - basically I don't care what the bra looks like as long as I get the result. Separation, uplift, general perkiness Grin

Thanks for the suggestions!

Try the Fauve Maya then - its one of my favourite bras

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/05/2015 16:52

I'd definitely try some Cleos like the lily. They don't look that impressive but the lift is brilliant and the separate well to - not cleavage bras at all

GreenHamNoeggs · 13/05/2015 18:31

Thanks, ladies - I will investigate all your suggestions!
