Talk to me about BB cream, and should I use it?

I'm 37 weeks pregnant, and have been told off Hmm by dm because I have no skin care regime! I do wear makeup, but definitely not every day, and would like to feel more done! I usually wear foundation, then powder, then a bit of bronzer and my favourite mascara in the world (lancome grandiose!!), but feel that the skin part is way too time consuming, as I have ds3 as well as the new baby coming. So is bb cream the way forward?

I'm afraid that I don't moisture or anything either, I take my makeup off with wipes and exfoliate once a week, and if I don't have makeup on I just splash water on it. I'm 37 and don't have spots or anything really, just a bit of an uneven skin tone, tending towards the red. I have dark brown/auburn hair, and blue/grey eyes.

I use Olay's BB cream in medium. I hate foundation. It works for me but I also cleanse, tone and moisturise daily.

The Rimmel BB cream is very good, as is the Lasting Finish Concealer in the red pot. In the daytime I just use those two products, plus a bit of translucent setting powder and L'oreal mascara. Suddenly I'm being told how healthy I look, which never happened when I wore full-on foundation instead of the BB cream.

Just discovered Maybelline dream fresh BB cream, wonderful stuff and doesn't turn you orange unlike Loreal

Oh, and if I were you I'd definitely focus on improving your skincare routine.

Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser is lovely - I massage that into my skin and then remove it with a wet cotton wool pad, and that's all I need unless I've been wearing heavy make-up. On "full-on foundation" days I follow it up with Boots Cold Cream, which is lovely for cleansing and moisturising.

I like to wear moisturiser at night and under foundation (if I'm not wearing the BB cream). Avene Skin Recovery Cream is the best one I've found - it's very hydrating and soothing without being greasy, works nicely as a base for make-up, and makes my sensitive skin look very healthy.

Ok, great, so do I use the concealer and then the bb cream? And I should be able to just use the mascara too, and I'll look more presentable! Grin
I am presuming from what you have all said, the less expensive creams work well?

I've just discovered Soltan BB cream SPF 50. It's about £5, foolproof and feels moisturising and light. I do use moisturiser underneath though. I think that's going to be me sorted for the summer! The light/medium shade is good on me - I'm usually the second lightest shade in foundation. Bourjois BB bronzer is good too (not sure the BB actually means anything there) - easy to apply with fingers.

BB cream isn't a substitute for skincare, so think about an easy routine that suits you, especially cleansing.
