Anyone remember Body Shop Ananya perfume?

Is there a perfume that smells similar? I don't think the Body Shop stocks it anymore and it was always one of my favourites.

Cant help with Ananya - it was Dewberry for me when at college! Them were the days! Thanks for the memory recall Grin

squizita · 06/06/2015 11:54

This was my high school/uni perfume! Grin
My DH loves white musk. It reminds him of "fit girls who wouldn't look at you twice at the bus stop" Grin Grin

The Body Shop say that there are no plans to bring the perfume bar back. I wish companies would listen to customers! It's just bad business sense not to. In the 80s and 90s The Body Shop was always bustling and you could buy something no matter what your budget. I also loved the perfume bar and had Japanses Musk, Mostly Musk, White Musk and Annie for my Mum.

Now my local one is usually empty with around four bored looking staff and up to two customers. It's an over priced boutique now that tries to guess what customers want without actually listening to them.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 06/06/2015 12:43

I was only googling Eau de Gucci to see if it still existed the other day.
I had a BS musk one that wasn't the utterly awful White Musk. Can't remember what it was now though. Dewberry was horrendous. So sweet. I took a busload of Japanese teenagers to London in 96 and they all bought stacks of it.

PetiteBateau · 06/06/2015 13:05

I can't stand body shop now, the staff are really pushy

YorkshiresAndGravy · 06/06/2015 13:43

Ooh, I had the Boots Sugarplum and Red Currant lip salves! I think they were a Christmas present. Did Sugarplum have a hint of purple or was it just in a purple tube? Red Currant was definitely tinted, red surprisingly!

I
also had a Boots Raspberry lip salve. It didn't add any colour but smelt lovely.

I used to wear body shop's Roma perfume oil. I loved it and used to get complimented on it all the time. I've never found anything that suits me that well or last as long. And it was about £3!

bwow · 06/06/2015 16:10

Yes yorkshires it did. I loved the smell. Redcurrant was more lipsticky.

Greengardenpixie · 06/06/2015 16:11

I remember ananya. I can almost conjure up the smell of it. One that everybody wore was dewberry!

bwow · 06/06/2015 16:11

eBay is awash with ananya products

Sleepyfergus · 06/06/2015 16:43

My overriding memory of Body Shop fragrance was Dewberry which was hideously cloying and sweet but me and my friends drenched ourselves in it. Hell, we were prob layering our fragrance without even realising it - shower gel to perfume to lip salve.

Fanjango · 06/06/2015 16:55

Oh yes. I still have some. It was the only thing I ever bought from the shop. Grin

FinallyHere · 06/06/2015 16:58

Another vote for the amber body shop oil. I still have a bottle in the bathroom cupboard which. Is nearly half full. Cant bear to use any more. Live the smell whenever i open the cupboard door. xx

VeganCow · 06/06/2015 21:19

I loved the Fuzzy Peach oil from BS.

GoneGirlGone · 06/06/2015 22:36

Ah yes! And Rum Raisin lip balm, divine. And the gift baskets. I received about ten when I turned 18 Smile

ScienceRocks · 06/06/2015 23:05

I have ananya perfume oil. I bought it on eBay last year when I had a real hankering for it. Smells exactly as I remembered and is now my bed perfume Smile

Nibledbyducks · 06/06/2015 23:30

I have real trouble finding perfumes that last on me, and both times I've found one I really like it's been discontinued. First was the body shop's leap, second B never's Two hearts. Don't suppose anyone knows anyhring that smells like either of them?

Almahart · 07/06/2015 07:40

I'd forgotten about that perfume bar and being able to add scent to bath oils. What a great idea, why doesn't someone do that now? Roma was my fave

sheffieldstealer · 07/06/2015 08:27

I loved Roma too - and Rose Musk.

The staff in my local Body Shop are lovely (and surprisingly good at makeovers!) but it's always empty, probably because the constant email offers of 40% off means no one's ever really confident about 'when' to buy anything, if it's going to be nearly half price the next day.

hollyisalovelyname · 07/06/2015 10:34

I wish Coty would sell Wild Musk in UK and Ireland.
It can be got in US drugstores.

Itsrmo · 11/10/2016 11:09

Hi , you can still get this oil on ebay it's £7.99 for 12ml , I love the sandalwood when they discontinued it I went searching and found sellers on ebay . Good luck hope this is helpful.

ChadSexington · 11/10/2016 11:26

This brings back memories! I worked in the Body Shop in the mid 90s before I went to uni, when the perfume bar was at its peak - it was a right faff! People would always knock the bottles over and drop the glass dibbers on the floor, send you out the back for various different types of obscure oils and then change their mind, and by the end of the day you would absolutely reek of a heady combination of all the oils mingled together over your hands and clothes. It was a bugger refilling the glass bottles out of the enormous plastic vats the perfumes came in. But that said, I'm sad it's not there any more, I think it filled a real gap in the market, there's nothing like that now, and it was so affordable. Lovely smells too, I particularly liked Tea Rose (launched when I worked there), Woody Sandlewood and Fuzzy Peach. Anaya, Dewberry, White Mush and Oceanus were the big sellers though.

TitsTingle · 11/10/2016 11:37

Oceanus was gorgeous.
