What type of jeans are fashionable at the moment?

Just bought two new pairs of jeans - one skinny (ie tight right to the ankle) and one straight leg (ie tight but then a bit looser at the ankle, not wide like a bootcut though).

Have I got this right?! Have not worn them yet so still time for a refund! They were quite expensive so hoping I will get a few years' wear out of them.

No I haven't seen anyone wearing flares either. I do have a pair though (need to get them taken up before I can wear them short arse ) I love flares, they really suit me much better than skinnies.

I also have skinny jeans and some straight ones I am wearing rolled up as a more flattering (for me) take on boyfriend jeans.

I think pretty much anything goes at the moment?

I think what you look good in makes a real difference, but for me jeans soaking up the puddles is not a good look, and feels horrible too. I have always found Warehouse denim fits my curvy size 12 body well. So if I need updating, I shop there.

I like the slim/straight styles and bootcuts that are not very wide...more comfortable than skinnies on me

Skinheadmermaid · 10/05/2015 11:44

I can't bear bootcut jeans. They look hideous on anyone unless they have super long skinny legs and high heels on, and tall skinny folk look nice in anything anyway.
Black skinny jeans seem to be having a moment as are ripped jeans. Also white jeans.
That's what i've seen out and about in London anyway. The only people wearing boot cuts are old ladies and frumpy mums with lank bobs and washed out v neck t shirts thinking they're trendy.
Like Ed Millibands wife.

I was only thinking the other day when would flares come back in.

I won't be wearing them, people look about 12 in flares.

I'm with vixx skinny jeans with rips, high waisted ones too

HelenF350 · 10/05/2015 12:09

I can't wait to give birth and buy myself a nice pair of flares.

Skinheadmermaid you sound like a beautiful human being.

GAP are doing a really nice girlfriend jean at the moment. More relaxed than a skinny though the leg but not too loose (i.e. not a boyfriend) . Look great with a vest for the summer. Super skinnies do seem to be on the way out but think they'll always have a following, in the way that Boot cuts still do (Victoria Beckham never stopped wearing them).

I've been seing a lot of ripped-out-knee skinny jeans.

They are not for me no matter how fashionable they are.

Sansarya · 10/05/2015 15:42

I must be getting old, because whenever I see those I think "oh my, her knees must be freezing"!!

Felicitysfriend · 13/05/2015 19:32

I've been looking at what people are wearing this week and 95% are skinny jeans. That's in central London.

Runningupthathill82 · 13/05/2015 20:04

My uni students are all wearing either distressed skinnies, or 90s-style high-waisted "mom" jeans.

I'm in skinnies, rolled up to the ankle, or straight legs. Bootcut are hideous, just seem to make people's thighs look chunky IMO. And they don't seem to go with almost any sort of shoes.
