Outfit for two occasions - advice very much appreciated

Women of S&B, can anyone help?

I have two functions to attend. One a lovely afternoon party celebration (think Cambridge types, tent on the lawn, very nice but confident well dressed posh and beautiful people). The other a black-tie indoor evening do (quite posh, but probably can get away without floor length bling). Both events in June.

Is one outfit do-able for both, and can someone advise?

Me: 5'5, size 10-12ish, small of chest, blonde, late 40s.

Would prefer very low or no heel, closed toe (not sandals) for shoes.

Not keen on prints for outfit. Would like to look classy. Prefer natural fabrics. And, this is tricky, would really, really prefer three-quarter or full-length sleeves. This is because of scaring on upper arm/elbow. I know I could wear a jacket/cover up some other way (willing to consider) but would love a classy dress (or other outfit) with sleeves.

Budget - up to £200 to include outfit/shoes. Not worried about bags etc.

Is there any hope?

Didn't Mary Portal start a campaign for more dresses with sleeves? There are plenty of us who want to be stylish but not show our bingo wings upper arms.

Do let us know what you get RR.

She did Pants! Not sure if it came to anything ...

No luck over the weekend but I'll have to get into gear this coming weekend. Kind of frozen with indecision Smile which is daft as I live in London and it shouldn't be this difficult to find a frock.

A colleague suggested fabulous trousers, heels and a swooshy top. But I don't even know where to start with that ...

Potters off to look at Portas online

How about a trip to Brighton instead? Dig for Victory, who made the lovely blue dress, have a shop where you can go and choose fabric, a pattern, types of sleeves, etc.

Failing that, their website looks pretty good, digforvictoryclothing.com.

Pondering trousers but may have run out of steam ...

I can report that Portas is NOT FOR ME.

Yes. Brighton may be the answer ...

You know - there's money in it for someone to start a business selling nice frocks, in natural fabrics, for various occasions, with sleeves.

Thanks for the support!
