Foundation on cheeks only...?

I'm a foundation novice but I think I need it - got the red blotchy winter face thing since the heating went back on. So for all you make-up experts out there: can you put foundation only where it needs it - for me would be mainly cheeks. And if so what's a good blendable one for this purpose? I've got very sensitive skin as well. Any help appreciated!

ok, I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I use the Clinique one and I think it is pretty good.

You would have to get something quite light and a VERY good colour match, obviously. I never buy new foundation without some expert advice, even if it's just from the make up counter assistant in the Body Shop. Suggest going to a department store or a Space NK or something and asking for help.

Your other option is tinted moisturiser all over. I have used cheapo Nivea ones and expensive Dermalogica ones and both do the job you need.

I use Lancome and it blends really well and you can just apply it where needed.

I only put it where its needed. It has to be a good match though.

Depending on what your budget is, you could try a brand such as Prescriptives who will custom blend it for you.

Thanks all, I think I will go and get some advice as my budget is not huge. I'd like to be confident it's ok before I buy. I've had Lancome stuff before (not foundation though) and liked it so may be worth a shot.

Just out of interest - those who use tinted moisturiser, do you put on normal moisturiser under it as well, or does it really do the job alone? god I'm clueless about this stuff...

it looks better applied only where needed IMHO

better than one colour all over your face, which looks unatural

go to clinique they have lovely foundations

quite pricey but worth it

I was using Clinique but it made my sensitive skin worse and wasn't really moisturising enough for me so I'm currently trying No7 "Radiant touch", of all things. So far it's been great, and much cheaper. (You don't get a nice lady in a white coat matching it carefully for you though .)
