Going to the hairdressers weekly

Recently I've been considering making a wash and blowdry at the hairdressers a weekly treat for myself, does anybody still do this or is it just 'ladies of a certain age'?

Both of my grandmothers had a standing appointment with their hairdressers and would think nothing of going weekly, my mother also goes once a week and never does her own hair.

Is it a bit weird for a younger (well, 37!) woman to do this? Does anybody on here go weekly or is it a dying tradition?

I suppose it depends - I always wondered what happens by day 4. What if you exercise and get all hot and sweaty?

Because I've got short hair and it's shaped around my neck, I would love to go and have a trim once a week but I fear it would cost too much. A cut and finish costs me £60 as it is.

My mum never washed her own hair, well she did but so rarely I used to comment, she practically lived at the hairdressers.

My next door neighbour does & I know of women living in central London who go twice a week so never wash their own hair.

My mum hasn't washed her own hair in years, she goes to the hairdresser at least twice a week ( she's not old) if you have the money & time then why not?

I've never actually heard of younger women doing it, but why not, plenty have fortnightly manicures etc.

My friend has a weekly curly blow dry and she's only 27

She wears her hair up for the later part of the week

If I could afford it I would do it

Ive considered doing this, there's a salon near me which does a £10 blowdry with a junior

Hairdresser here in a fairly 'young' city centre salon in Leeds. We get a fair few weekly blow dries in, mostly on a Sunday. It's often girls with tons of hair, then they'll not wash it the whole rest of the week. We offer £10 blow dries with a junior too, and it's good for us because they can get their assessments signed off and gain some experience as well as you getting a cheap blow dry

If I won the lottery I definately would. I hate drying my hair and love going to the hair dressers!

My hairdresser is usually £60.00 for a trim & blow out.

When I used to go in once a week for a wash & blow out, he charged £20, because it was a regular income for him.

Have a word with your hairdresser, he may offer something similar.

I would love to do that, I'm hopeless at blow drying my own hair. Went to a blow dry bar in London one morning when I had a posh lunch to go to and the results were fab but it was really expensive so sadly it's a special occasion only treat.

I used to go every Friday after work for a wash and blow dry. I have thick hair that I hate drying myself. It would see me through the weekend (pre kids so a lot more socialising) and then I would wash it myself during the week and wear it up for work.
