Oh no I burned my face today :( best moisturiser with spf?

As above really. I have 3 small children so quite often spend hours and hours at the park and today I have come home with a very red nose and cheeks Sad I'm not very good with skin care- constantly running late for everything- so I ideally need a moisturiser with an spf I can put on in the morning and then I know that if I forget to apply normal sunblock at least I have something on. I was looking at the l'occitane immortelle day cream with spf 20 but it's not cheap at £46 so I would appreciate any recommendations. £50 would be absolutely the maximum I could spend but ideally it would be a lot less than that! Thanks so much

Sorry to be a bore but If you're out that much you'll need a dedicated spf. Moisturisers with spf aren't very reliable as you've found out! Try clinique city block, it might be moisturising enough for you.

Damn I suspected as much :( which ones are non greasy/ non face paint like please? I am so cross with myselfAngry for getting burned today

I burn very easily but don't need more than a standard Olay/Loreal type moisturiser with SPF 15 to stop my face burning, even when outdoors all day.

I know it's not the best thing in terms of actual protection from aging etc but it does stop me burning.

OP - people over on Style and Beauty are always comparing SPF creams so get thee over there and have a read of some recent threads Smile

Reapplication is key, and a moisturiser with SPF15 will not cut it.

Ultrasun face SPF50 is single application and works ok under makeup - Mac do Prep and Prime which is SPF50 - Clinique City block SPF40 - or Maybelline or Boots botanics both do bb creams which are good and SPF30. La Roche Posay do Anthelios sunblock which is SPF50 but quite heavy and can be pore clogging according to me and some others over on S and B - but others love it.

As Twitchcoco says, the British association of dermatologists doesn't recommend relying on moisturiser for sun protection. I use Clinique city block which is great. Others that people often recommend are la Roche posay anthelios and Sunsense.

I like sunsense

I wear on top of moisturiser and underneath foundation but it itsn't greasy and doesn't make your skin go very white.

I'm a recent convert to Superdrug Solait Face Fluid. It's SPF30, 5 star UVA, and doesn't go bobbly under primer and foundation, do that white mask thing etc. Currently on offer at £1.98.
I very nearly got some of the Clinique stuff: I went to the Clinique counter to ask about the UVA protection in cityblock and was very disappointed with their lack of knowledge. They kept taking about the UVB protection, and when I said, yes but what about UVA?, they didn't seem to know what I meant at first, then went to look in a book, then gave me an 0845 number to call and ask Hmm I didn't. I saved myself the bother, plus a load of money, and bought the superdrug stuff.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer for Face SPF 50+

Dries beautifully matt. Feels weightless. Cheap enough to slather over your entire face and neck every morning.

I've been using it daily for years, and am a huge fan.

I think really expensive sunscreens are a mistake, unless you are loaded. It just discourages you from putting enough on.
