Advise re bra size measuring

I had my bra size measured at m&s today as a couple of my bras were hurting me and they said my bra size has gone up from 34dd to 36e. They had no nice bras in 36e and a very limited choice which left me feeling a bit despondent. Is there a way I can reliably measure my bra size at home to double check whether I am a 36e or is there anywhere that sells nice bras in 36e?

If M&S measured you it is almost certainly wrong I'm afraid. They use an old fashioned method which results in too big a band and too small a cup.

Measure yourself as described here and post the numbers up

Thank you the numbers are step 1 - 34 inches under chest and step 2 41 inches across the widest part

I'd say try 34 F

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/04/2015 23:50

yup, 34F or thereabouts. Which is a sister size to a 36E (so should have roughly the same cup volume) but will give you better support.

Now, where to buy...not M&S Grin. Have a look at brands designed for larger busts - Freya, Cleo, Panache, Curvy Kate, Bravissimo, Fantasie. Look at the Bravissimo website, Brastop, Leia Lingerie, mycurvesandme, Debenhams, John Lewis, Amazon etc

Try debenhams, ime their fitters are good and they have a range of larger sizes.

Unfortunately debenhams are really variable -some stores seem to have got the modern fitting memo but others are still firmly in plus 4 ville
