Best hairdrier under £30 for straight hair?

Recommendations please! Grin

My hairdrier went pop this morning. Need a replacement, preferably a lightweight model. Doesn't have to be all singing & dancing. I do want something that will help my hair be nice and smooth though.
Could possibly go a smidgen higher budget if it's really fantastic.

No idea what I'm looking at - my last one was purchased just after the millennium...

Marking place as mine blew up this morning too!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2015 19:32

Place marking, as I need one too. MY current (just about to die) one is a Babyliss and was about £20 - it's been good and I'd definitely buy a Babyliss one again. I think this might be my current one

Sorry - no idea how 'My' ended up capitalised. Am not an ego-maniac really! Grin

I have a babyliss one from argos. think its about £30

PurpleDaisies · 27/04/2015 19:57

I have a babyliss turbo shine which was about £30ish from boots a couple of years ago. It is great...dries really quickly and shiny as suggested by the name. Would definitely buy another babyliss drier.

PurpleDaisies · 27/04/2015 19:58

Hang on...I have the one Remus suggested! It is really good.

I have always bought Remington...affordable and last for years!

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 27/04/2015 23:08

I think my current (newly departed) one is a Remington. I have reserved one of these to collect tomorrow. It is heavier than my old one but apparently an AC motor lasts a lot longer than the lighter DC motor models. (Not sure what the actual difference is but hey ho!)

I have a babyliss tourmaline gold ac motor dryer, bought a couple of months ago for £35, Argos outlet on ebay (Argos themselves were out of stock) and I love it - it dries quickly, not noticeably heavy, long lead (doesn't swivel, its only downfall!), ZERO frizz and I am growing out a perm, so that in itself is quite remarkable! Wink

DarylDixonsDarlin · 27/04/2015 23:26

Oh that one youve reserved is very similar, difference being its ceramic instead of tourmaline, rest of the spec is virtually identical Grin

Nicky Clarke Vitesse, bought on the strength of great reviews. I have long, thick straight hair and it's fantastic.
