they're lumps. Under my skin. Either next to, or just behind my ear lobes or on my chin. They're sore, and hang about for ages Sad

Any idea what they are and how to get rid? Every time one goes down I seem to sprout another Hmm

Are you on the pill? I got what sounds exactly the same after going on a POP. I went to the doctor and asked for zineryt. It's nothing less than a miracle Grin

Thanks For you tho. They're depressing.

I am on the pill - cerazette for the past year ish. Never had them before - was taking Microgynon before that.

Looks like I'll be off to the Dr's then to see what they say Smile

Same pill causing it too then. Get thee to the GP. I moved on to nacrez. It didn't help.

They might be cysts, if they get infected and cause pain antibiotics clear them up. I occasionally get them behind my ears where my glasses rub, they're painful as hell!

lucysmam · 24/04/2015 22:40

I'll ring for an appointment Monday morning. It didn't even occur to me that it might be my pill causing them...I had an appointment on Monday where I could have mentioned them too if it had occurred to me Confused

Sounds like cystic acne. Spots with no head, very sore.
There is treatment not that I've had it, as with all of my other health issues, it's very far down on my list of priorities - ask your gp.

lucysmam · 24/04/2015 22:52

They're sore rather than full on painful iyswim?

I'll see a Dr and keep leaving them alone until then...the latest one is hidden by my hair thankfully.

Definitely sounds like cystic acne to m. Well worth discussing with your gp, if a change of pill doesn't solve it there are medications that will help, eg roaccutane, but it's hardcore stuff so I'm sure your gp will want to try some other things first

Come and join us on the Caroline Hirons thread - loads of us have adult acne there Grin

What products are you using currently?

If you were to switch to a non-foaming cleanser such as Cetaphil or LRP Physiological Cleansing Gel, then an acid toner like Clearasil pads, Paula's Choice 2% BHA or Effaclar Duo and then moisturiser only if you think you need to, making sure your moisturiser is oil free, you will probably see a massive difference.

Have a look at Caroline Hiron's videos with Dr Sam Bunting (acne expert with amazing skin) on youtube. If you follow her advice to the letter your skin will look fab.
