Two pairs of blue sandals - which shall I keep?

Having searched fruitlessly since last summer for a nice pair of blue/navy sandals for work (apparently as rare as hen's teeth) , suddenly two pairs come along at once.... both purchased from M&S during this week's 20% off day..... So which pair shall I keep?

The brief - they're for work (office, not super-smart, think separates/skirts/trousers), I have very wide feet and can't wear anything high or strappy.

These or these? The first pair I think look more "elegant". I like the ankle strap and colour of the second pair, but am not sure about the blocky heel.... Both are extremely comfortable.

What do the stylish MN jury think? Which to keep, which to return...

I agree with you mowglik
Clearly I've no idea when it comes to frumpy sandals Wink

I think a big part of the problem is NAVY. Navy shoes are always tricky.

If you don't like Tan how about another contrasting colour?

Matchy matchy can look a bit dated.

I have a pair of blue and fawn(?) M&S foot glove sandals from years ago which are awesome but the current collection is pretty lame.

Agree with all said on navy and tan or other neutral bring a better bet for choice.
Fwiw I've ordered from Spartoio at least once and it was fine

I also loathe M and S shoes!

Spartoo!

Ooh, more sandals.

SwedishEdith - skirts and trainers OK for casual but wouldn't go down well in my office. I like those Gabor ones, but a bit pricey (and not in my size).

Rudy - like those too, but only available in a 4.

Herbs - She Shoots, She Scores... Grin I do like those (and the price) very much! Aren't Rieker supposed to be comfortable too? I feel an order coming on. As I'm one of those chumps who somehow managed to sign up to Amazon Prime without realisingBlush , I can have them on my doorstep almost instantly.

I realise I'm banging on about "comfort" rather too much for a S&B thread - there has been a slow dawning over the last couple of years that I'd really rather not stumble about with sore feet in the name of fashion anymore. In general I do find sandals easier on my feet than courts/pumps, probably because of the ankle straps, and they are acceptable work wear. And brands like Clarks and M&S can generally be relied upon.

And as for the "tan" argument - yes, agreed, it sometimes looks better to wear tan with navy clothing, but I wear a lot of blue/grey/pink/purple, which doesn't always work.

second pair, CV. think with a-line skirt (right one) you could rock an amy adams in american hustle thing (more covering up top tho poss).

CointreauVersial · 29/04/2015 00:38

Conclusion - I'm keeping neither pair!

These ones recommended by the lovely Herbs arrived today, and they are perfect - dark navy, extremely easy on the feet, and not expensive. Hoorah!

Thanks all for your input.

Very nice Cointreau.

polyhymnia · 29/04/2015 13:11

Way nicer than the M and S ones. Totally agree on comfort, btw, but it's great when you can find comfort and style (which I don't ever find in M and S personally).
