Hair supplimenys

nilbyname · 23/04/2015 13:59

I'm 38 and have crap hair, it's fine and fly away, it's a bit dry too.

Is Nourkin hair suppliments worth the money? I'm hoping my hair would thicken up with them and grow a bit more?
Any tips or reviews would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Flowers

I've no idea, I've never tried it. But I did use to work 'in vitamins', and saw that you'd not had a reply...

Has your hair always been thin, or is it a recent thing, ie have you experienced hair loss?

It's alwYS been quite fine, but since having kids it's fallen out and never really come back full strength. Kids are 4,7 so not babies anymore!

My hair is exactly the same, kids are 5 and 3 so not babies either!
I've not tried Nourkrin (mainly because of the price) but you could probably buy the ingredients separately from H&B for cheaper. I've tried taking Biotin but it gave me cyclic acne! Other ingredients are silica, horsetail extract, marine protein extract and cherry extract.
Sorry I'm not much help, wish I was, I hate my hair.

I have thining hair and hair loss due to an auto immune disease. I have recently stsrted taking vitamin b complex and Uktra Woman Hmm tablets from Holland and Barrat and Ive noticed a big difference .
Though to be fair before my hair went crap it was always pretty good.

God typos, sorry. Ultra

Is it thin all over, or is it what's called male pattern hair loss?

Nourikin has some kind of proprietary marine 'ingredient' - I can't tell what it is, as the description is so cloaked by marketing guff. It's something fishy anyway. I think if you did want to cover all bases, you'd be best off taking a good multi vitamin - a complete or A-Z one, plus some high strength cod liver oil. Brands like boots, superdrug, tesco, asda etc are just as good as the brands here, just look on the back to see how much of each you're getting. The one thing that I think (anecdotal not medical! ) that makes a big difference is iron. Are you anaemic, do you know? If so, addressing that could make a huge difference, it did for me. Likewise, thyroid issues.

MrsDesperado · 24/04/2015 18:02

My assumption would be that the proprietary marine ingredient is iodine TheSpottedZebra - just an assumption though! The amount of "protein" nourkrin provides is negligible.

FWIW I've been taking perfectil tablets (the normal ones), feroglobin (iron), high stretch omega 3, high strength vitamin D and sea kelp tablets (iodine) for c.6 months now. Can't tell any difference in hair thickness or growth but it's probably too early to tell. If I notice a miracle in another 6 month's time I'll report back!

Thanks for all the information, will have a good nose around my vitamin store.

Im not deficienct in anything, take floridix, eat really well, loads of fiah and green vegetables. I think genetically it's just quite thin crap hair ConfusedSad
