Nude tights people living in the North

Hiya

I'd quite like to get my legs out of the black opaques they've been in all winter. And we've finally got some sunshine, but it isn't really warm enough to slap on some fake tan and let my legs all hang out, in fact it is only really warm enough to do that about 4 days a year here, up North.

So nude tights - a complete 'no' or just what you have do if you don't live in the balmy south?

I'm a fan of nudes, mostly because my legs look terrible with red spots on them so rarely go without a tight! As long as they are good quality and you're not wearing open toed sandals then go for it

The big boss of my organisation used to wear smart business suits with bare legs and school sandals. In all seasons, id like to say she pulled it off with panache and style....

I can't remember the last time I wore nude tights. I know that nude ones tend to rip and ladder within minutes on me for some reason!

I am reading this with interest, as I have made the leap from wearing jumpers and trousers for work to wearing dresses with opaques. I have some lighter weight dresses that I can wear for work, but was wondering what I would wear with them on my legs in the summer. I might get some tights in Sainsburys tomorrow.

Now I just need to worry about what footwear to wear with the dresses when it's no longer boots weather (I do love my boots). The footwear issue is what's put me off wearing dresses in the past - trousers are much easier to put footwear with (also - SOCKS!). Grin

Coming a bit late to this but joining with this query - also northern and it might just be starting to be nude tights weather! If you wear nude tights, don't wear open toed sandals (can see that!) and not boots, what's the done thing shoes wise?

you can buy tights for open toe sandals, they just dont have a seam round the toes

personally id be wearing close toe heels or flats

im in scotland so its genereally tight season all year round ;)

I tried some nude tights - Falke from TK Maxx - for the first time ever last week. They did look quite natural but felt horrible - it was like wearing cling film (which probably wasn't far off the truth). They also laddered before I'd even left the house. Arses to that, I'm back in opaques or (turn away now fashionista people) leggings - but grey as I don't like black.

I'll happily go bare legged when it's warm enough but holidays aside, that's for about two weeks of the year.

Two things - just find nude tights that don't actually look like you're wearing any. Nobody would know I had them on when I wear them - except me, because I'm not freezing.

Secondly - you can even wear open-toed shoes. M & S do ones which leave your toes bare.

GingerLDN · 10/05/2015 21:12

I hate nude tights, but wear them in a business environment. Never to go out. I like opaques in the winter and always bare in summer. I'm in the north.

I don't mind nude tights just two points

Stay away from mink - for over 60s only

Stay away from shiney - I don't rock the ice skating competition look ;)
