Does anyone know a good (cheaper!) substitute for Clarins moisturiser?

I love Clarins hydraquench and extra firming moisturisers, but currently a bit skint (the night cream is £53!!).

Does anyone know of a more mid priced range that might be similar?

Was thinking Boots - time delay/ la roche posay/ avene type products and prices but I don't know where to start!

Thanks!

Try the Skin Wisdom range in Lidl.

Aldi Lacura? The serums are lovely and cost about 3 squid.

Otherwise I've always loved Garner, downgraded from Clinique a few years ago and much prefer it!

The Boots Time Delay stuff is very good (especially when on offer). I've never thought that Clarins stuff was worth the prices.

Aldi Lacura Q10 definitely, £2.99. I always get it when I'm out of Clarins as I only buy that when Boots have one of the offers on to get loads of free mini sizes (next one May by the way).

With the Aldi stuff, I prefer the anti-wrinkle day cream, they do a pot or a tube which also has SPF10. Smells like Nivea, and is very similar in consistency to Clarins. I did try the normal day cream once which had green colouring on the packaging, that was a lighter cream and I didn't like it.

I know loads of people who've switched from Clarins to Aldi Lacura.

Aldi 'brands' seem to adopt the packaging style of the products they emulate - their Expert range is dark red on white Wink

That said, it gave me a rash although I can use all of their serums which are brilliant. Love the Q10 cream, too (even cheaper!)

Thank you all!

We don't have an aldi (:(), but we do have a small lidl- I will take a look.

Finance princess, which time delay do you use (as I noticed on the other thread it is on offer at the moment!)

Thanks again!

I've switched from Clarins to either Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive or the Superdrug green Radiance one. Both of them are just as good as the Clarins, to be honest, although obviously they don't smell so lovely.

I didn't find the Avene one rich enough for me, although I love their cleanser.

Have been impressed by all of the Time Delay products I've tried, but I haven't used them for a couple of years.

the older I get the more cynical I get about moisturisers

I have this one www.boots.com/en/Boots-Derma-Care-Daily-Moisturising-Cream-150ml_1129361/ and I am an utter LIZARD.

it absorbs well, smells neutral and i can blow the money I am saving on Botox, which actually DOES make me look younger

Tanaqui · 21/04/2015 18:09

Lol browtox, I am happy without Botox at the moment- maybe in the future!

Just like skin to feel soft without getting spots- is annoyingly sensitive! Will maybe try the Nivea sensitive as sounds gentle?

Yes, Aldi restorative cream seems to big just like Clarins ime, even has the glass jar!

UpNorthAgain · 21/04/2015 19:15

I have recently started using Bioderma Hydrabio and am very impressed. I think it was about £8, on offer from Escentual. I love the Bioderma micellar (sp?) water, too. Professionals in the the makeup & fashion industry seemingly rave about Bioderma. The Clarins Hydraquench was lovely when I had a makeup lesson / makeover some months ago, but I couldn't justify buying it.

Tanaqui · 22/04/2015 15:48

Well I got the nivea sensitive as half price in boots at the moment , and the time delay night cream had shea butter high on the list of ingredients, which Caroline Hirons says is sometimes too heavy for spot prone skin. I'll let you know how I go with it!

Thanks again
